Removed dramatic portrayals in film/TV

[edit]

I just removed references to Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story, Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland, and The Jacksons: An American Dream. These might be appropriate to mention somewhere in Michael Jackson, or an article like Cultural impact of Michael Jackson, but I don't think they're appropriate here. An actor portraying Michael Jackson in a biopic is not the same as a Michael Jackson impersonator. I left other works that involved actors playing Michael Jackson impersonators. Edit warring

[edit]

@LucasBAM: You've now reverted to add your intended changes to this article five times in twenty-four hours, in breach of the three-revert rule which says you can make at most three in that time frame. Two different editors (Apoxyomenus and Akhiljaxxn), as well as me, have removed this content, for reasons explained both in edit summaries and on your talk page. I'm not reverting it again myself, since I'm already on two reverts. However, you need to discuss these changes at this point, because repeatedly re-adding it could be seen as edit warring. YorkshireLad  ✿  (talk) 18:49, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If there's no further discussion, I'm inclined to remove it again per WP:ONUS, since it's a large amount of unsourced material, and the people listed don't appear to be notable. Just giving one more chance for LucasBAM to give the opposing argument before I do. YorkshireLad  ✿  (talk) 13:00, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
LucasBAM's editing seems to have stopped. YorkshireLad or anyone else, if this resumes, please let me or another admin know (either by pinging me here or by posting to WP:AIV). Probably a decent use-case for a partial block. Enterprisey (talk!) 05:29, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He virtually stopped because the last edit on the article was only a partial revert. That list still included and I also agree with @YorkshireLad: that we should remove it since doesn't include any references, some examples have non-NPOV comments alongside probably they aren't notable acts. He added a lot of examples and unless he or someone else can add references based on WP:RS, we can restore it. Regards, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 06:07, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes: just in case it isn't clear, I'm not in favour of the article as it stands, even as the last person to edit it. I just was conscious of the fact that it takes two to edit war, and so decided to leave the additions (per something along the lines of WP:DEADLINE). But to reduce any impact on readers, I added cleanup tags, and removed the worst non-NPOV parts. I agree with Apoxyomenus that the article should be restored to its state before LucasBAM's additions. (Thanks Enterprisey for your offer of help, btw.) YorkshireLad  ✿  (talk) 10:18, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it's been several days now. I'm going to revert back to the article as it stood before the edit warring and see what happens. YorkshireLad  ✿  (talk) 22:09, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
YorkshireLad I completely agree with you. You sent him proper warning messages and open this discussion to avoid any warring edit. Article must be restored and delete his editions. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 22:37, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Should Jordan Neely be added?

[edit]

Should Jordan Neely be added? He is certainly the most widely known MJ impersonator by now. 85.81.1.247 (talk) 12:49, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

He should. I tried adding that but someone reverted it. I think it’s because they didn’t like my source. 2601:8C:700:6C0:A003:6A4F:E499:3D80 (talk) 03:13, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Trapson

[edit]

Feel like he should here, but not sure where to add him
