What is the difference between Hudson Bay and Baltic Sea? Why the former is not considered to be a mediterranean sea, but the latter is? Reasoning based on depth is not very plausible, since Baltic Sea is only 55--60 m deep on average (459 m at the deepest point). I think that Hudson Bay has greater average depth, even though I do not know. In any case, on the information from a normal world atlas, I can say the depths are of the same magnitude. And, at least what comes to the sheer physical area, Hudson Bay is about five times as large as the Baltic. 80.221.61.8 00:22, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested Move/ Name Change

[edit]

In order to avoid confusion (see http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Marginal_sea) perhaps the name should be changed to "Mediterranean sea (oceanography)". This way, we won't have to depend on two articles being distinguished by a capital or common "s". The similar names also seem to give trouble with Wikipedia and Internet explorer as when I moved from marginal sea to this article and then to the Mediterranean Sea article, I could not come back to this article. Instead, when I clicked back, Internet Explorer went straight back to the marginal seas article.72.27.107.50 22:44, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so it seems that there is a clear consensus....so how does one actually move the page, as opposed to cutting and pasting the contents? Is it that a signed in user or admin has to move the page?72.27.72.182 05:49, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it's moving to an empty location, or a redirect without an edit history, this can be done by any signed in user; see WP:MOVE. For more complicated cases, an admin is needed to delete the page in the first place. I've done this move as it's easy and non-contraversial. Cheers --Pak21 13:35, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mediterranean sea (oceanography)Mediterranean seasNatural disambiguation; the plural form appears much more frequently in the body of the article. fgnievinski (talk) 02:31, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
