I thnk was should say more about the shootings, stabbings, and the engineering acedemy.

also more about football

i disagree, i am a graduate of mcneil, and that kind of shit makes the whole school look bad. focus of the better things, like the ROTC, choir and things like that

Faculty

[edit]

Should a Faculty and Staff section be included on here?

bias in tone on Band section

[edit]

The awards should speak for themselves without saying that it is "one of the best bands in Texas" which has a tone of an advertisement.192.88.165.35 22:47, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

note - The tone of the Band section has been made neutral. Kahless364 (talk) 05:45, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MHS Band Article

[edit]

The band article is fairly long and I propose that it be split into a new article. Kahless364 (talk) 23:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it is part of the school, when people goto the page they want to know about the band. There is no reason it should be in a new article.

recent edits regarding the robotics team.

[edit]

This information was removed for several reasons.

  1. It was a completely unreferenced claim of achievement. if you want to make a claim of achievement, it must be referenced to a reliable source not connected to the school. This is per WP:V.
  2. The achievement that was mentioned is not an achievement we discuss on high school articles. We only discuss team state or national level championships. Not local or regional contests, not second places (or below). No mention of individual achievements. This article is about the school, not its individual students. This is per WP:SCH/AG.
  3. The only time we mention individual students or faculty is if the particular student or faculty member has a biography here on Wikipedia. There is an exception for principals, in the context of a list of all the school's principals, but that is it. No student names, ever. BTW, the number of American school-age youth that have biographies on Wikipedia is less than 500, and far and away the majority of them do not attend high school; instead they have private tutors. This is also per WP:SCH/AG
  4. Finally, the amount of copy inserted about one single club represented undue coverage. Again, this article is about the school, not one single activity.

Instead of trying to publicize one club, may I suggest you work up a listing of all the clubs, referenced to the school's website. It might be useful to remember also that this article is about the school, not for the school, and its intended audience is the entire English speaking world. Do you think really that a reader in Calcutta would give a damn who started a particular club, or that they took third place in one contest one year? I'll answer that for you. NO! 2000 Jollyville CDP showing school grounds

[edit]

I made an archive of this Google Map - the 2000 Jollyville CDP includes a bit of the school grounds. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:22, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
