Draft article

[edit]

Hello I've written this article about Mavis Wheeler, after finding her name in a list of people who have been suggested for Wikipedia articles. The five men she was associated with all have their own pages.

I'm still fairly new here, so a couple of questions:

I would like to include images, but am finding the Wikimedia Commons process very complicated. I've identified a photo and a painting which I think are OK in terms of licensing, but it would be good if this could be confirmed. One is this photo (https://www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/use-this-image/?mkey=mw52747) which I've downloaded. The painting is this one (https://www.wikiart.org/en/augustus-john/mavis-wheeler-1945).

I asked a question about use of images at one of the help desks, and found out that it's very complex. (it's on this page:https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions/Archive/2024/September#c-Marchjuly-20240921104500-Blackballnz-20240921051800). If the article is accepted, is it possible to work with another editor who is experienced with the image process?

Secondly, I've labelled this page Mavis Wheeler, which was the name she was best known as. Wheeler is the surname of her second husband. Because it would be otherwise confusing, for the paragraphs about her second husband, I refer to them as Mavis and Mortimer. I don't know if this is the correct thing to do, but I haven't seen any specific guidance about this.

Thanks in advance. Blackballnz (talk) 07:31, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
