Propose to change name to Maria Korny as that is a more likely last name. Viktorovna is more like a middle name. Sources for Korny: [1] and [2] — Mwk815 (talk) 23:53, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I second this, mainly due to fact that referring to a Russian person by patronym as "Viktorovna" is similar to referring to Bill Gates (William Henry Gates III) as to "the Third", for example. Polzohod (talk) 23:33, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, everyone, this is Leopard of the Snows. I’ve done a full re-write of this article and wanted to share a few notes on things I decided to keep or remove:
1. Unfortunately, we can’t rely on Maria’s videos about her life, since we should be avoiding primary sources as much as possible. I’ve removed all material that could not be corroborated by a secondary source, which means interesting but (by Wikipedia’s standards) non-notable information has been removed. The one exception is the citation of her birthplace.
2. The Craig Richard quote in which he refers to Maria as having a maternal style is not really accurate. In the cited source, he’s referring to ASMR broadly, not specifically to Maria.
3. Her partner, Darryl, is mentioned in the Cosmo and first Washington Post features. There’s no secondary mention of them getting married or him being the father of her child. Does his mention back when they were boyfriend/girlfriend warrant us including him in the Personal Life section as her husband and father of her child? I lean toward “yes” but wanted to gauge some other opinions first.
Maria is a popular online figure who I believe deserved a more structured and properly-cited page. I think this rewrite provides a much stronger foundation for future edits. I hope you will agree. Leopard of the Snows (talk) 22:13, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
