Morris' artistic work
[edit]Morris also contributed artistic work, which was featured in several exhibitions. Should we change the page title to reflect this? At the very least, her artistic work should be mentioned in the opening paragraph, which establishes her notability. Women-in-red-edinburgh (talk) 15:26, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
Page move request
[edit]Requested move 3 April 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: No consensus to move. After two full listing periods, no agreement that the new title is better. (non-admin closure) — Amakuru (talk) 10:04, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
Margaret Morris (dancer) → Margaret Morris (artist) – Margaret Morris (dancer) does not adequately describe the accomplishments of Margaret Morris as she was a notable artist as well as a notable dance pioneer. I mention this as her work was exhibited in the current Modern Scottish Women exhibition at the National Galleries of Scotland and it was explained that she and her lifelong partner, J.D. Fergusson, established the influential New Art Club in 1940. Hence I would suggest her page be renamed Margaret Morris (artist) as a more encompassing term which could include her dancing and artistic achievements.
