[edit]Marc Benno was born Marc Alec Benno in Dallas, Texas, on July 1, 1947. His parents were Bernard Benno and Anne Sylvia Fineglass Benno, both deceased. The doctor who delivered him was named Robbins. He had an older brother, Irvin Jerome, who is deceased. When he was little, his parents owned a beer garden at the State Fair, and walking around, he fell in love with guitar music. His uncle bought him his first guitar on a trip to Mexico. Marc is Jewish and his parents were Jewish. . He was bar-mitzvahed when he thirteen. He attended Armstrong Elementary School, Benjamin Franklin Junior High, and graduated from Hillcrest High School. He briefly attended North Texas State University before dropping out to move to LA. When Marc first began playing in combos during and after high school, he took on several silly psuedonyms. One of them was Bennie Darvon, the name of two drugs (Benny = Benzedrine). He was on the local television rock and roll show and he said he was a roller skating champion from Kansas. He was just being silly. That's where the confusion about the names comes from. His has been married twice, once to Fran Adel, with whom he had a child Jessica, and once to Gigi Benno, but he is divorced now. He works as a drug counselor near Kerrville, Texas, but this summer he has been touring Texas and playing a lot of clubs and festivals. It's all on his facebook page Marc Benno.
I am his first cousin. We shared the same house until I was six and he was thirteen but the families remained very close because our mothers were sisters. You can find out a lot about him on his facebook page. You can contact him yourself. He wrote his biography once but I don't know if he would give you a copy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.174.112 (talk) 23:48, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
