Mammoth Springs, Illinois → Mammoth Spring (Illinois) – WP:PLACEDAB specifies parentheses, since this turned out to be a water spring, not a community. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mammoth Springs, Illinois: It appears that GNIS is just wrong about this being a populated place (and a plural), and therefore thousands of spam/autogenerated sites that use GNIS data as their basis are not reliable either; GNIS does show it as the only feature with this or similar name in Illinois, however, which is why I'm comfortable with just "(Illinois)" as the disambiguator. After 4 more years I still can't find any non-GNIS source that details this as being named "Springs" or having a population. Closeapple (talk) 06:30, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
