Notability
[edit]@CNMall41: I've analysed the references and they fall into three categories - interviews with Wood, articles about him from non-independent sources, and articles about the restaurant business which mention Wood. If I were reviewing this I would have said it was a borderline case. Thoughts? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:33, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Curb Safe Charmer:, You are correct in that this was a very borderline case and a tough call especially given the creator's COI. In fact, I normally don't even review drafts when people reach out on my talk page but I do remember the Mott 32 page so went ahead and took a look. If he was just a figure head for the restaurant, I likely wouldn't have approved it (likely just redirected the name into Mott 32). However, there are at least two good references and his work in film put it over the top for me as a WP:FILMMAKER. Drafts like these are very tough calls sometimes. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:59, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- I can't find any link between Malcolm Wood and A Plastic Ocean, besides being mentioned in passing in restaurant-related articles. IMDB doesn't list him. The other film mentioned, The Last Glaciers, has an Indigogo fundraising page that only met half its goal, raising $26,000 USD. I think it was just an attempt to fund and publicize a ski trip.
- While he's involved in environmental activism, I don't think "filmmaker" is a proper title.FrankForAllAndBirds (talk) 03:27, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
