Maisie → Maisie (film and radio character) – (Or a better title). At the moment, this article is the primary topic on Maisie (disambiguation). However there are a lot of real people and fictional characters listed in the Maisie (given name) article, and it seems strange to give this obscure mid-20th century character prime position. Looking at page views across all time, on the logarithmic scale, the given name article gets more views. I would like to suggest either no primary topic, or the given name as primary topic. The name came first, and is a more popular article (although neither receives huge number of views). Laterthanyouthink (talk) 06:08, 27 January 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Move to Maisie Ravier? If the character has a last name and needs to be disambiguated, it makes sense to use her last name. O.N.R. (talk) 10:17, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Maisie (character) (seems to be the dab of choice in Category:Female characters in film) and replace with Maisie (given name). Having watched several of the films, Ravier is not mentioned much. This Maisie is also listed in the given name page anyway. Clarityfiend (talk) 11:28, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Maisie (character). Also, might as well discuss Maisy → Maisy (TV series) while we're here. 162 etc. (talk) 17:24, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Comment Thanks all. The reason I added words in front of "character" is that there are numerous fictional characters called Maisie (see Maisie (given name)), and a I couldn't think of a better way to distinguish - she appeared to be the only one who appears in film and on radio. - Move to Maisie Ravier. Not primary and not the only character called Maisie. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:30, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Relisting to see if consensus develops on either of the proposed titles The Night Watch (talk) 15:36, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Maisie Ravier. The last name is a more WP:NATURAL disambiguator than "Maisie (character)", and it also avoids potential confusion with other characters named Maisie. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 15:40, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Support Maisie Ravier the given name has more views (692) than Ravier (373), the film has 210 and the song has 4[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:53, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

Following the move
[edit]Thanks to Raydann for doing the move and to all for your input. Now, sorry to be a pain, but what about these related matters? Shouldn't Maisie (given name) now be moved to Maisie, as primary topic? Clarityfiend, Necrothesp, O.N.R., ModernDayTrilobite, Crouch, Swale? Also, what about 162 etc.'s idea about moving Maisy to Maisy (TV series)? Thoughts? Should I just do a RM on Maisy to discuss separately there? Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:07, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- I agree it should be primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:25, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed, I think Maisie (given name) is the primary topic here. As for Maisy, I think it'd be best to start another RM there. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 14:29, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- The given name is the primary topic. Easy move. O.N.R. (talk) 15:42, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- Maybe as it looks like the other topics derive from it on the other hand disambiguation may still be better per usage. Probably start a new RM if needed. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:18, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- Comment. Hmmm, just noticed that several other names (Jane, Alice, Doreen, Janet) are DABs, but there is a lot of inconsistency - others (Sarah, Susan, Maureen, Lucy) are primary topics. Could be a can of worms we don't want to open? :-( Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:31, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
