WP:BIO

[edit]

There have recently been some reverts about the addition of information about Shahroudi being the guy to finally place a moratorium on stoning, during which WP:BIO has been invoked. Certainly if you google Shahroudi, the vast majority of the English-language hits will relate to his institution of the moratorium. I don't understand how this (adequately cited) information in any way violates WP:BIO, although I welcome a debate on the subject. Ford MF 09:40, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that last edit. I had meant to delete the contentious info while retaining the salient info of why anyone in the west might have read about him before. No harm meant. Ford MF 09:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

missing biography

[edit]

this article needs more info about shahroudi, his upbringing in Iraq, when he immigrated to Iran, his relationship or conflict with saddam, etc. the article jumps right into shahroudi's involvement in Iranian politics, leaving behind decades worth of biographical info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.84.68.252 (talk) 21:42, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

tried to add a tiny bit of this info to start to address this just now, but don't have much detail. to which sources should one look?04:12, 20 May 2016 (UTC) G1729 (talk) 04:12, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV concern

[edit]

Regarding the Revision as of 01:46, 29 January 2013 in section "Prosecution of parliament members" included “Shahroudi's commentary must be interpreted as being politically motivated, and is symptomatic of his failure to strengthen the rule of law during his tenure.” Concerned this sentence (in particular “must be interpreted as”) states opinion as fact which may violate the NPOV policy, but I couldn’t think of a way to alter to make more neutral without finding a source with that point of view, which I haven't found. Can others think of/find a solution? G1729 (talk) 02:32, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There was a lot of broken and inaccessible links at the article and i removed them. Saff V. (talk) 12:17, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

So it seems he's not dead for now. I'm very surprised Xinhua reported it as they are ususally reliable on foreign politics. Well, we just wait... --Folengo (talk) 17:51, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
