US 131 issue

[edit]

There is a vast discrepancy between the text I found here (which claimed that US 131 ended in St. Ignace at US-2) and the research I conducted (and put into the article) that says US 131 ends in Petoskey. Anybody have some wisdom on this? 7&6=thirteen (talk) 21:59, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Stan[reply]

Whomever added that line to the article was grossly mistaken. It used my website as support, but as the webmaster (and after I did a search on that page to see if something I wrote gave the wrong impression) I can state that US-131 has never gone anywhere near Mackinaw City. It has never existed north of its present northern terminus at Petoskey. I have removed the offending line from the Mackinaw City article. If anyone can find anything in the US-131 route listing on my website that gives the impression that the route existed north of Petoskey, please tell me and I'll reword it. Climate

[edit]

Cadillac experiences a typical northern Michigan climate, undergoing temperate seasonal changes, influenced by the presence of Lake Michigan and the inevitable lake effect. Winters are generally cold with large amounts of snowfall. Summers are warm. [1] The average high temperature in July is 79 °F (26 °C) and the average low is in January, at 10 °F (-12 °C). Summer temperatures can exceed 90 °F (32 °C), and winter temperatures can drop below 0 °F (-18 °C). Average annual rainfall is 32 inches (81 cm), and average annual snowfall is 71 inches (180 cm) . Snowfall typically occurs between the months of November and March.

I 've never done one of these. Is there somebody out there who can HELP.

[edit]

I believe this is the Mackinaw City referred to in the first two lines of the second stanza of Bob Seger's "Roll Me Away" - the lines being "Twelve hours out of Mackinaw City / Stopped in a bar to have a brew"[3]. Is this worth mentioning? 20:28, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
