Truth vs
[edit]There are many factual errors with this page, and previous attempts to correct them have been reverted. I therefore recommend removing the article entirely, as it is packed full of inaccuracies, as well as missing information and so forth.
Here are some examples: -It says 12-17 age range. Actually it was 8-17. I know because I was there at age 8 as were several others. -It says 'Gila Wilderness' instead of Cruzville -Brian Lebarton, drummer for Beck and others is not listed as notable student. -It oddly only lists Miles Decker as a staff member, though there were many more Those are some but not nearly all examples.
I find that protecting erroneous information is more negative than positive. Please just remove the article if you're not interested in representing the truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.230.196.23 (talk) 17:18, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Cleaning up this page
[edit]I'm going to clean this page up a bit and rewrite some parts of it. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to add something please let me know via the talk page. It will probably take me a few weeks at least to get this sorted. OneUpOnUs (talk) 01:37, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- You know OnUpOnUs, this page badly needs a rewrite. But looking at some of these compelling stories of their life on the Ranch, I don't think they belong here on the WP page. We can't add anything that isn't sourced to a strong citation from a notable secondary source. Otherwise it is just quoting primary sources and looks like original research. If you allow one person's experience on the page from a blog or a forum post, then you have to allow all first-hand experiences. That could become very cumbersome and problematic. I hope you take my suggestion in the kindness that it is offered, I look forward to your rewrite.Sgerbic (talk) 20:14, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
- I completely agree Sgerbic, as compelling and gripping as some of the stories on this WP are, they must be notable and from a high quality secondary source to be cited. Thank you very much for your reply! OneUpOnUs (talk) 21:51, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
I've rewritten this page now. I'm sorry to say there was a fair bit that had to be removed but it was nessesary. Unfortunately, references such as personal experiences must come from high quality journalistic sources, citations must be secondary and notable. I do hope that people who went to the school continue to tell their stories. I'll keep an eye on this subject (and I'm sure others will as well) and update the page as new information comes to light.OneUpOnUs (talk) 21:57, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
