Added information to infobar. Planning on expanding article in near future. Jacotto 02:08, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa whoa whoa. NOT the largest reflecting telescope. http://www.cord.edu/faculty/gealy/obs.html Concordia has an 18 inch reflector. I'm going to erase the 'largest in state' and replace with 'among the largest in the state' which I realize is unclear but makes for a less untrue article. Friedlad (talk) 15:02, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update Friedlad, but the Macalester Observatory's telescope is still the largest in the state that is capable of scientific research; the Concordia observatory page states that it does not currently posses a CCD camera, which would make the Newtonian Reflector unsuitable for scientific work. If Concordia does obtain a CCD camera for the 18" telescope, then we can absolutely shift the title of 'largest in state' to Concordia. I will try to make a clarification in the article, however.
