It's not a collector's item. It's sold millions of copies, and is still for sale new, shrinkwrapped at most stores. That's flat wrong. -Franklin Bynum 02:50, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I've removed the line. -Phoenixrod 03:31, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Umm it is not sold new ANYWHERE, EA had all stores pull what copies they had left because of the Take2 MLB deal. The game sell on ebay for over $100 all the time Krawhitham 08:15, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"When playing a season mode, the user can only select one team/organization to play with that entire season and future seasons (i.e. by choosing the Red Sox in the dynasty mode, the user is not able to play game with, edit rosters, or change lineups for any other of the 29 organizations)"

How is that a design flaw? Fitz221 19:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the "design flaws" list are BS Krawhitham 08:16, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a design flaw to me... I have played a handful of baseball video games and each and every one (up until this one) you could play a season with any team (not just one). Seems like an unnecessary problem mainly since it was never an issue in prior baseball games. 172.147.95.202 04:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the part about game reviewers saying the game being biased towards the Red Sox. Maybe it is true, but I haven't read a review that said that. --Rigist 18:14, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why does whoever keep adding the "design flaws" list back, it's completely unnecessary and most of the list is flat-out wrong. Corinh 01:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No doubt, has anyone even seen a left-handed throwing catcher? Or left-handed 2B, SS, 3B? It's because they are awkward on the baseball diamond.

Fair use rationale for Image:Mvpbaseballcover.jpg

[edit]

Image:Mvpbaseballcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hidden players

[edit]

I noticed that there are some "hidden" players in the game... notably, players that were not MLB'ers in 2005 but were on the cusp of breaking into the big leagues... so presumably they weren't part of the MPBPA or something and couldn't be included in the game. For instance, there is a 1B in the Brewers default system with the exact birthday and height/weight of Prince Fielder. Same goes for Cole Hamels, he has a look-alike on the Phillies default AA team. Is there a complete list anywhere that anyone knows of? 71.195.178.144 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:57, 13 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]

EDIT: Noticed that these correlate to the "Top 100 Prospects" tag that accompanies certain players profiles. A few more include Seattle's SP Felix Hernandez and Oakland minor league OF Javier Herrera. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.195.178.144 (talk) 06:09, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, last edit... looks like there's a FAQ of these players: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/592/592305p1.html 71.195.178.144 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:12, 13 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]
