Inclusion of nicknames never used
[edit]I have removed the nicknames "LuGo" and "Long Gone". I think that because these nicknames are very seldom used, they shouldn't be on this article. Wikipedia doesn't need to have a comprehensive list of every nickname people have been called; "Gonzo" is the only thing he is ever called on a regular basis. See Talk:Mariano_Rivera#Inclusion_of_nicknames_never_used. Consensus was reached on this page that nicknames never used did not belong in the introduction paragraph. If you still want to include them, please include a source and explain why they should be included in the introduction paragraph. Canjth 21:48, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- I keep removing those nick names also.. someone keeps putting them back in. I have never heard him ever called "Long Gone" and he refuses to list sources..and is now removing the "Gonzo" nickname which is the commonly used one. (Spanneraol 17:35, 13 July 2007 (UTC)).
- This is ridiculous. Wikipedia articles should not be endless lists of nicknames and fan pet names. Only the most commonly used nickname should be included. It really adds nothing to the article to have so many nicknames. Y2kcrazyjoker4 00:05, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I suggest 69.17.97.216 be reported to Administrators. He's continually re-adding his edits, with no sources to back them and misusing 'edit summaries' (he was earlier 'blocked' for same offenses, at Peter Forsberg). GoodDay 19:51, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Official signing
[edit]I have added 2 sites proving that it is a done deal.Dshibshm (talk) 19:25, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
It IS official. Just go to MLBtraderumors.Dshibshm (talk) 19:42, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- You have 2 site that say they have reached an agreement to make a deal pending a physical. It is not a done deal. Until it is announced, it is not official. Also, don't use MLBtraderumors as a legit source, it says rumors right in the name. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080131&content_id=2360821&vkey=news_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla&partnered=rss_fla --Rabbethan 19:47, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- It should be ok to mention that it was reported that he had reached a deal. That is a fact. I wouldn't put him on the roster yet till the deal becomes official. But he does have a tentative deal. Spanneraol (talk) 20:14, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have no problem with mentioning it. He kept putting him as a Florida Marlin, kept changing his infobox, and kept putting him on the roster. --Rabbethan 20:32, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

New Club
[edit]I would like to create a new MLB "club". "Never close before, Never close after" Three prominent members. Gonzalez, Greg Vaughn and Brady Anderson re 50 HR season. To me, three of the most obvious juicers.Dcrasno (talk) 02:38, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
