[edit]what about these projects?
BRAZIL here: Brazilian Air Force#Loyal wingman
INDIA here: HAL CATS Warrior and HAL Combat Air Teaming System
SOUTH KOREA: KUS-LW project and some other news
FRANCE/spain/GERMANY here: Future Combat Air System
ITALY: sky-x project and some oher news Iri1388 (talk) 23:41, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
- India already in there, the others have no reference to autonomous AI operation or are in a foreign language. Reliable sources are needed to show that they are significant enough to include here. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 08:04, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- I found this about Brazil; "Embraer and Brazilian air force to study development of advanced UAV" in Flight Global Iri1388 (talk) 06:36, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Also about South Korea; "Korean Air to help develop stealthy loyal wingman UAVs" in Flight Global
- And " 'Loyal Wingman' Part of the Future of Air Combat " in Aviation International News
- And "sky-x precursor of future loyal wingman the unmanned followers for the next generation aircraft" in Leonardo.com Iri1388 (talk) 18:29, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- None of those give any indication of significance - plans to do something are not the same as actually working on it. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 19:52, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
kizilelma
[edit]should it not be added? sure baykar talks big about how it's a straight up "combatant" and not some assistant thingy but their marketing aside it's just a bigger than normal wingman. afaik tai has already spoken about kizilelma teaming up with manned fighters.
for what it's worth it's already flying, even if with an underpowered engine that can only take it to subsonic speeds as of now.
- A key feature of the Loyal Wingman is AI able to act with a degree of tactical autonomy over the battlefield. Kizilelma is just a typical dumb UCAV with no more brains than an autoland system. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 18:51, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
