Composer project review

[edit]

I've reviewed this article as part of the Composers project review of its B-class articles. This article was automatically assessed to B because another project had given it a B rating.

This article does not merit a B rating; it fails to provide significant amounts of basic biographical information. (Nothing is written about his childhood and formative experiences, his personal life, his music style, or his works.) This article appears to be little more than a publicity bio, especially as it contains undated references to future plans.

For comparison, see the article on Philip Glass, another living composer also born in 1937; while short on personal details, the article gives a much better view of its subject. Magic♪piano 01:55, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to agree, as per Magicpiano (pardon missing icon) and JackofOz. There's at least one factual error: the recording of Gayne on two LPs, though billed as "The Gayne Ballet," is not complete. The Melodiya recording required four LPs, though some of the sides were short; it's clear, however, that two LPs can't possibly contain the whole score!162.84.143.193 (talk) 12:45, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blow this up and start again
