09MAR07 - Contacted a Photo archivist at the Naval Historical Center, who did a search and was unable to find a specific photograph of Loretta Walsh. An historian from the center, Dr. Akers, will be providing me with some additional documents pertaining to YNC Loretta Walsh. I will post any additional information which is not reflected on the current page. Phenix2099 21:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC) Phenix2099[reply]

Al Nofi, Nov 13, '06: How was it possible for her to enlist two days before the Navy authorized the enlistment of women?

Cause of death

[edit]

Since she died of such a young age I think specifying the cause of death is needed. Mikemill (talk) 02:19, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. That's what I came here to say. --Doradus (talk) 05:11, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto. I did a quick Google search but found nothing, so I hope someone can shed light here. - Team4Technologies (talk) 10:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Memorial pic

[edit]

Does the memorial picture have to be so gaudy? Is that what the real one looks like, because if not, it needs to be changed to something more encyclopedic... I tried following the citation to see, but it was out of date and the link was broken. Nerrolken (talk) 03:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IMO the image should be removed and text used. The image is hard enough to read without impairment and currently it doesn't seem to have any alt text for a screen reader if one did have an impairment. Mikemill (talk) 08:39, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

The article says, "At age 18, on March 17, 1917, Walsh engaged in a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Naval Reserve..." However, given her listed birthday, wouldn't she have been 20? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.207.39.71 (talk) 07:48, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
