Images on Commons need a license

[edit]

Hi,

The images Image:The Heretic logo.jpg and Image:TheCodexSeriesLogo.jpg on Commons didn't have licese information, so they've ben tagged for deletion. I figure that you don't visit Commons too often, so I'm letting you know here. I know that you're involved with Edgeworks, so you probably have the authority to release them under an appropriate license, but a questino to you, beforeyou go and add the license information, is whether you really want to. The only acceptable licenses on Commons are ones that allow free distribution and modification of the image, so I'm not sure that you'd want someone else able to modify those logos at a whim.

If you don't want to release the images under a free license, what we can do is let them be deleted from Commons and upload the images here on the English Wikipedia under a fair use license, as I had done with Image:The Codex logo.jpg.

Also, does User:Tex Murphy have the authority to release Image:Forsaken logo.jpg under the GFDL? If not, then that image needs to be addressed as well. Thanks. — TKD::Talk 15:38, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I think we have to wait for the images on Commons to be deleted (which takes a week or so), after which I can upload them locally as fair use on Wikipedia. — TKD::Talk 04:14, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan Fillion

[edit]

So you watched that episode of Lost too! I only watched the parts Nathan was in; I haven't been following the series. It was great seeing him again -- but he was just tooooo sweet. Where's my sarcastic witty capn? Zora 08:54, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lucy

[edit]

I assure you that Lucy Kenworthy is the character name. It's on the credits of the show and also on IMDb. Now I know that Wikipedia prides itself on its accuracy, but IMDb is infinitely more accurate due to fact checking. Also, generally, current television shows are updated by the show's producers themselves, so the accuracy is incomparably greater than WP. I also would suggest you refer to WP:Civility before commenting on anyone elses talk pages.

I will change the page again, if you've reverted my changes, as I am certain of its correctness.

Hey,
As I said, I'll suss it all out to have a definitive answer. I'm not claiming to be the be-all-and-all, but I was quite certain that the name was Kenworthy. At present, thanks to the redirect we've got, there's no issue about the differing names, as both land at the same place. I'll dig up whatever evidence I can to make sure it's rock solid (for Kenwright, if that's in fact right) so we don't encounter this matter again.
Regards,

Hey,
I haven't had a chance, unfortunately, to verify either way, I'm sorry. Been run off my feet in the last few days at work (I'm still on Wiki, but am restricted to my research access here from work). I'll update tonight or tomorrow night, though, as to what I can prove/disprove. Also, I'll update IMDb too with the correct details too (I'm a perma-user there too, so I have direct access to adjust things over there as necessary and verifiable).
--lincalinca 03:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
PS: I just put a redirect on your main user page to redirect here so that it doesn't go to an orphan page. If you want it removed, go for it, but I think it helps.

Hey,
I'm sorry I haven't responded as yet. I've been flat on my feet lately with regards to my capacity to verify or deny anything about our discussion. I still haven't had a chance to do so, but I can see that you're dissatisfied with my tardiness. I am sorry for that. I'll make an effort to sort my stuff out. In the meantime, I must accept that you've investigated the matter to a greater extent than I have and as such will accept now that you are correct and if though my own further studies find that the name is infact worthy (lol) then I'll change it, reference it and notify you. In the meantime, you may make the corrections as you see fit to Lucy's name and such.

Heretic episode descriptions

[edit]

I have a quick question. Is it ok for me to put the episode descriptions from "The Heretic" videos page on The Heretic page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RHJesusFreak40 (talkcontribs) 15:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Rome: Total War

[edit]

That's what I said, but some guy kept changing it, even though I pointed it out. Don't be surprised if he returns to change it all the time. Mallerd (talk) 10:17, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

white tiger

[edit]

The reason I felt I had to explain about heterozygous and homozygous genes is because there's a wikipedia article titled "Heterozygous Tiger", as if that were a variety of tiger. I was attempting to clear up that confusion.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
