Max Raphael

[edit]

I just converted Max Raphael as a straight redirect to this page. If Mr. Sherr is acknowledging Raphael as a stage name on his official website, we don't need to be having two pages like it's a secret identity. Bravo Foxtrot (talk) 14:38, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As an author of art history.

[edit]

I removed the section about him being a published Author of art history in French. The linked page showed the book was translated (" Traduit par") by Denise Modigliani; so I'd assume it wasn't written in French originally. Click on the authors name in the linked page leads you to a short biography located here:

My French is a little rusty, I can make sense of it but I'll let Google do the actual translating from the paragraph on that page:

Indented text German Jew born in 1889, Max Raphael had a life of exile. Contemporary of Walter Benjamin and Carl Einstein, he studied in Munich, Berlin and Paris. Deserter in 1917, he found refuge in Switzerland before returning to teach at Berlin in 1924. His reading of Marxist philosophy and art history compels a new exile in Paris since 1932. Arrested in 1939, then interned at Gurs, he escaped and left for the United States where he committed suicide in 1952. =====

So I'm pretty sure the voice over actor discussed on this page isn't this guy.

Good catch! I too was fooled by the French language aspect of it. Bravo Foxtrot (talk) 04:04, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Max Raphael article in now used for the art historian, and an other uses link for the pseudonymous actor. Eclecticology (talk) 21:40, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cars 2

[edit]

I have just deleted the unreferenced "rumour" statement about Lloyd replacing George Carlin in this film as Fillmore. Whether this turns out true or not, I am keeping an eye on this on the watchlist. trainfan01 talk 20:46, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

Now there are two nearly identical references to his role in Cars2, both in the section above Early Life. (random person) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.254.1.7 (talk) 21:44, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
