phpMyVisites

Found the following comment in the article :

Why doesn't phpMyVisites have a wiki? It's fairly well known...

phpMyVisites has it's own wiki there : http://www.phpmyvisites.us/documentation/Main_Page

phpMyVisites is notable, feel free to add it yourself. --Hm2k (talk) 10:17, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Piwik is allready on the list? --87.78.21.165 (talk) 06:58, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Omniture

Why is Omniture not mentioned herein at all? --kidoshisama 2008-09-26

Omniture seems notable, feel free to add it yourself. --Hm2k (talk) 10:17, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Usefulness of Article

This article proved VERY useful to me in my search for FOSS web analytics software. The current wikipedia tags it carries makes worry that someone is considering deleting it or chopping it down. Consider this a pre-emptive vote to keep the article around. 64.252.185.178 (talk) 15:15, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

That said, I've added a link to the dmoz entry that covers web analytics/log analysis software. I still think the tables here can get into more detail here that makes the job of getting info on this type of software easier. 64.252.185.178 (talk) 15:32, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup Required

Too many links (WP:LINKFARM); Too many redlinks (WP:RED); Lack of reliable sources (WP:V); Lack of citation (WP:CS); Lack of notability (WP:N). Article needs cleanup. --Hm2k (talk) 09:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

As of now there are no red links. We must also realize that this article is a list as opposed to textual (i.e. for data rather than for information). In many ways, the many links are necessary, citations are almost meaningless. We must ask if we want a small, short list of the "big name" web analytic software solutions or the smaller ones as well (an argument can be made for both sides). The former currently being the case, I renamed the header "Open Source Software" to "Popular Open Source Software." Otherwise it is misleading, inferring that the list contains most or many of the open source software solutions available. --Slythfox (talk) 06:02, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
We have no way to measure popularity. The list is probably incomplete. I have updated the article to reflect this. --Hm2k (talk) 08:26, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Popularity is measured by sites such as http://w3techs.com/technologies/overview/traffic_analysis/all 81.217.23.240 (talk) 19:46, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

I've just done yet another cleanup. You should create articles for your additions. --Hm2k (talk) 17:42, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

This column should be used only for links to actual demos. These include:

  • Live webinars
  • Recorded videos
  • Schedule/Request Live Demo
  • Demo pages

It should not link to trial software, "contact us" forms, or anything else that does not demonstrate the product. If you wish to add this additional information it should be included in a different column for the sake of clarity. I have cleaned up the page to reflect this. - Shmuls (talk) 11:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

To avoid disputes and to avoid Wikipedia policy violations the online demo links should be removed all together. Such links can be added to the external links section of the appropriate article. --Hm2k (talk) 13:58, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Woopra

Woopra is clearly notable and I've not got around to creating an article for it yet, however, if you feel like doing it first, please go ahead, and let me know so I can assist you. Here's some source to help you on your way...

Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

As per this discussion, the Woopra article stub is found here. You can help by expanding on this article. --Hm2k (talk) 22:42, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Visitors

Why was the link to Visitors removed by User:Hm2k? It's a very useful tool. EPharaoh (talk) 17:29, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

See WP:USEFUL. --Hm2k (talk) 12:58, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

OK, Visitors is a very fast and simple web server log analyzer. It is GPL, it has a web page (http://www.hping.org/visitors/), and it has an online "demo" (http://www.hping.org/visitors/report.html}. It has not been updated in a while (the latest release is from 2006), but it has a nice user base and it is included in some of the major Linux distributions (Debian and Ubuntu, for example). So, what is the reason for *not* having Visitors in the page? Only because it does not have a page by itself? In that case, Chartbeat, TraceMyIP.org and W3Counter should also be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnny.cespedes (talkcontribs) 15:11, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

SlimStat

slimstat.net seems to be quite mature software, what do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.19.3.233 (talk) 09:40, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Quantcast and W3Counter

Quantcast and W3Counter could be added to the Hosted section, right? I just want to make sure... --Vaganyik (talk) 13:35, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Shooftie

We are in the process of launching a different kind of analytical tool for web sites:-

http://www.shooftie.com/

While it does provide stats like number of visitors, pages viewed etc, it's more about allowing you to really see what your visitors are up to. Would this be an appropriate addition to your list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matisse52 (talkcontribs) 19:36, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Probably not - you would need to establish WP:Notability which is unlikely if you are in the process of launching it. noq (talk) 21:07, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Logaholic

I recently declined a submission at WP:AFC for Logaholic. My suggestion and the suggestion of another reviewer was to merge its content with this list. The author's initial attempt to add it to this list was reverted quickly for issues with notability. A google search results in > 400,000 hits as of today (I know Google hits don't equal notability) and it is included in the popular web hosting control panel, cPanel. Just my $0.02.
