List of tallest structures / Tokyo Sky Tree
[edit]On 20 March 2010, []Tokyo Sky Tree]] reached a height of 328m, see website. Within a few days it'll be the tallest structure in Japan. It went over the 200 m mark last december. Therefore, in my opinion, it's inclusion in the list of tallest structures is overdue. Maybe, as soon as it reaches the 333+ m mark, it should be added on top of the list with a mention of the last known height in the "height" column? The target height could be mentioned in the "notes" column.--Quarconi (talk) 14:49, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Ya, I'll probably throw something together when it finally passes the 333m mark. At the rate that this thing is being built though, it will be completed pretty soon anyways! --TorsodogTalk 21:55, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- it's now 338m. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.151.4.122 (talk) 04:11, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Requested move 9 October 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Procedural close. It is not necessary to move any article in order to effect a split. If a split is desired, all information about buildings can simply be deleted from this article and added to List of tallest buildings in Japan directly over the current redirect. Use the edit summary "Split to List of tallest buildings in Japan" on this article, and "Split from List of tallest structures in Japan" on the new article for attribution purposes. List of tallest structures in Japan → List of tallest buildings in Japan – It is necessary to split the page List of tallest structures in Japan into the pages "List of tallest buildings in Japan" (source article) and "List of tallest structures in Japan" (new article). But before that, is necessary to move "List of tallest structures in Japan" to "List of tallest buildings in Japan", and it occurs that there is a redirect with the target name. Schläger4 (talk) 19:54, 7 October 2022 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). Dr. Vogel (talk) 13:23, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm a bit confused. Buildings are structures. Could you please explain a bit more? Thank you. Dr. Vogel (talk) 00:07, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- This seems like it needs consensus to move and to split. -2pou (talk) 00:10, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, buildings are a type of structure. However, in Wikipedia list articles, for better organization, one list presents all types of structures (towers, masts, chimneys, bridges) and the other presents specifically buildings—the most important type.
- Look:
- List of tallest buildings in the United States & List of tallest structures in the United States;
- List of tallest buildings in the United Kingdom & List of tallest structures in the United Kingdom;
- List of tallest buildings in Germany & List of tallest structures in Germany;
- List of tallest buildings in Poland & List of tallest structures in Poland;
- List of tallest buildings in Bulgaria & List of tallest structures in Bulgaria. Schläger4 (talk) 13:52, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not objecting, but given the potential for someone to disagree this should go to a full WP:RM as per WP:PCM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 22:57, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- This change is unnecessary. What is the need, exactly? --TorsodogTalk 13:45, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
