Transatmospheric Earth Orbits is a category of Earth orbits where the initial perigee is above the surface of the Earth but below the Karman line which is considered the lower limit for Low Earth Orbits. These orbits reach deep enough in the atmosphere to cause significant drag leading the object to deorbit after a short time. Depending on how deep with the atmosphere an object placed within a TEO could reenter before completing a single orbit or it could make several orbits with decreasing perigees before it's final reentry.

Suborbital Earth Flights are those orbits where the perigee is below the surface of the Earth. AmigaClone (talk) 08:45, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
