Combat Leader (1983)

[edit]

This is the first RTS I ever played (on C64, and I believe it was available on Atari ST and some other platforms as well), but I have absolutely no skill at editing Wikipedia. Mobigames lists it here: http://www.mobygames.com/game/c64/combat-leader. It's definitely worth inclusion.2604:6000:100E:C071:2CF5:DE2:7F56:A0F5 (talk) 08:11, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sub-categories

[edit]

The list should indicate in the "Notes" column whether a game falls under one of the other strategy sub-genres, such as 4X or grand strategy, as well. Hopefully I'll get around to doing that at some later time. SharkD (talk) 02:15, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dimensionality

[edit]

What about the dimensionality of these RTS games: 2D, 2.5D (sprites in at least 4-10 directions, e.g. Starcraft), and full 3D (Warcraft III)? I do understand that dimensionality is much more important for shooters, but almost all strategy games nowadays are 3D, whereas it was not so just a decade or less ago. If you want to mention that in the 'Notes' column, go ahead. SharkD  Talk  02:00, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Empire Earth Sci Fi?

[edit]

Aren't the games in the Empire Earth series in a historic setting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theworldisbig (talkcontribs) 03:00, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Liero on this list?

[edit]

Surely it isn't an RTS game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.216.107.130 (talk) 11:02, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed damage from GOG additions

[edit]

Someone broke the table percentages, made new columns after each gog column, and wrote Yes (GOG) into many Notes columns. All or mostly fixed now. I feel like the GOG thing should be a link but I don't know what standard practice would be. It at least should be more clear. Vanngar (talk) 15:38, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed changes

[edit]

I think the table percents could be changed to make it all look a bit better and Year looks better when the years are aligned center. Vanngar (talk) 15:42, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Etherium

[edit]

Someone added this to the list after my last edits (the edit between mine and abaddon's) but it doesn't have a wiki page. The link links to some program called Ethereum. I dunno how this stuff works, I just fix things. Vanngar (talk) 05:23, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

M1 Tank Platoon and Team Yankee

[edit]

I'm not sure (pretty old games) but I think M1 Tank Platoon and Team Yankee would be relevant. They are currently in the real-time strategy category.

Another game : Super Battletank isn't in the category but seems to be alike. Elfast (talk) 16:15, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You're confusing real-time strategy with real-time tactics. This list is for the former. SharkD  Talk  16:40, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I didn't know there was a difference. Team Yankee (video game) article speaks about a mixture of real-time strategy and simulation game and it's not listed on List of real-time tactics video games (M1 Tank Platoon is). Elfast (talk) 10:40, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not familiar with this game. But if there is no resource collection or base building, then it doesn't really belong in this list. SharkD  Talk  14:23, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion Packs

[edit]

Is there a reason there is a bunch of expansion packs listed? It seems a number of early games have them. Most of them are definitively dependent expansion packs, not stand alone expansion packs. Rtbittaker (talk) 16:42, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
