Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Chinese words of English origin, and List of Chinese words of English origin, be merged into List of loanwords in Chinese. The first two cover identical subjects but one is mearly a stub with a single entry and some further reading links. The List of loanwords in Chinese overlaps the topic of the first two but is also just a stub with half a dozen or so items. These pages could all be combined to create a comprehensive source of information rather than the current disjointed array. Rincewind42 (talk) 14:25, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sufficient time has elapsed and no other responses have been made, therefore I shall continue with the merger as described above. Rincewind42 (talk) 02:14, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Table format

[edit]

Should English words come first? A choice is Pinyin (first letter capitals?) then characters then English. Let me know and I can swtich it around automatically. I put English first because article visitors are probably English speakers, but of course the columns sequence conflicts with the article title. Also, the pinyin needs spaces between the words. I'll try to automate that, but I don't think I'll be able to. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:44, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, the pinyin actually needed the spaces removed, which I have done. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:03, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
