Re-purge.

I applaud earlier attempts to clean this list up but it appears to have creeped to the point of uselessness. This is a warning to any opposed that I will clean this list up shortly. Please feel free to reply here with any questions comments or concerns. Thanks. Ncboy2010 (talk) 01:32, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

The article is headed "This is a list of fictional countries from published works of fiction (books, films, television series, gaming, etc.)". As many of the removed items qualify under that description, why have they been removed ? RGCorris (talk) 09:13, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Muscovy is an English corruption of the Russian proper noun Moskva (Москва) and adjective moskovskiy (московский), both referring to the city of Moscow, and is used in historical works to refer to the Grand Duchy of Moscow.

  • Panau: An island nation in southeast Asia, the setting for the video game Just Cause 2.
  • Panem: Totalitarian dictatorship in a dystopian United States that consists of thirteen districts, which arose after the fall of America in the Suzanne Collins trilogy, The Hunger Games.
  • Panquita: European monarchy mentioned in second season of the anime Yakitate!! Japan. A member of that nation's royal family, Princess Anne, was a guest judge at the baking exhibition.
  • Pantouflia: in Andrew Lang's fairy tales Prince Prigio (1889) and Prince Ricardo (1893)
  • Papilloma: Small European Kingdom, later Republic, from film Kath & Kimderella. Papilloma is a tiny and poor Spanish outpost on the heel of Italy. Last ruler was King Javier.
  • Parador: Latin American country in the film Moon Over Parador.
  • Paragonia: Latin American country in the film The Americano.
  • Parazuela: Latin American country in the film The Magnificent Two.
  • Parmistan: the setting for the 1985 film Gymkata. It is said to be in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

  • Peaceland: European country featured in the anime Nadesico, which was once a theme park, but formed its own nation. It is neutral in all conflicts, on earth and beyond, has no taxes, and has a great banking system similar to that of Switzerland. Ruri Hoshino aka "Ruri Ruri", a famous character of the series, is originally a princess from there.
  • Pelegostos: an island from the film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, inhabited by cannibals.
  • People's Republic of Clara: Land ruled by Admin Clara from Project Rockstar.
  • Pepeslavia: from Su Excelencia film starring Mario Moreno "Cantinflas". A parody of the U.S.S.R.
  • Pepperland: from The Beatles' film Yellow Submarine. It was a peaceful, psychedelic land that was attacked by the Blue Meanies.
  • Percebelandia (Republic of): A country in danger due to the mercenaries of Cefalopodia. Spanish secret agentes Mortadelo y Filemón help them to win the war in the comic Los mercenarios.[16]
  • Perusalem: land ruled by The Inca of Perusalem in the short satiric play by George Bernard Shaw
  • Petoria: from the "E. Peterbus Unum" episode of Family Guy
  • Petrosia: from the "Air Strike" 2005 American film. Is a European country with post-Soviet looking, Cyrillic alphabet and militians equipped with AK's.
  • Pharamaul: a British island protectorate five hundred miles off the southwest coast of Africa from the novel The Tribe That Lost Its Head by Nicholas Monsarrat.
  • Phatt Island: an island in the Caribbean in the game Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
  • Pfennig Halbpfennig: presumably German/Eastern European Grand Duchy and setting for the operetta The Grand Duke, by Gilbert and Sullivan. Notable for an unusual law regarding "Statutory Duels", in which duelists compete by drawing playing cards - the loser then dies and becomes a "legal ghost".
  • Pianostan: a country once visited by Inspector Gadget where its people remain happy so long as their King remains miserable
  • Picta: a country resembling Scotland in the Ranger's Apprentice book series by John Flanagan
  • Pigmania: A pig-shaped country featured in the 1942 cartoon Blitz Wolf.
  • Pilchardian Republic-:A European republic seen in a newsreel report in the Tin Tin book The Blue Lotus.
  • People's Republic of Pineland: a country that in real life consists of fifreen counties of central U.S. State of North Carolina. It is used for United States Army Special Forces training, with local North Carolinian civilian volunteers portraying the "Pinelanders".
  • The Pit: A dome of the Matoran Universe in BIONICLE used by the Order of Mata Nui to hold the universe's most dangerous people.
  • Pixie Hollow: Is The Never Fairy Kingdom in Neverland, where Tinker Bell and her tiny fairy friends live and dwell.
  • Plunder Island: a pirate island in the Caribbean in the game The Curse of Monkey Island, part of the Tri-Island area (governed by Elaine Marley)
  • Poketopia: Place Where Pokémon Trainers around the world battle pokémon in the video game Pokémon Battle Revolution.
  • Pokoponesia: island nation from the animated version of The Tick
  • Poldavia: A Eastern European republic where the Consul was attacked and mistaken for Tin Tin by Mitsuhirato and his thugs in the book The Blue Lotus
  • Poldévie: Eastern European country in a famous petition in the 1930s and in many novels by Jacques Roubaud.
  • Polrugaria: Archetypal Communist-ruled country, "heavily modelled on Poland"[17] in Isaac Deutscher's 1952 essay "The Tragic Life of a Polrugarian Minister" ([1]).
  • Pomerania: a nation in the film Anchors Aweigh. It has a navy which accepts non-Pomeranians. Not to be confused with the real Pomerania, formerly a region in Poland and Germany
  • Pontevedro: a poverty-stricken Grand Duchy situated deep in the Balkans from the comedy play L'Attaché d'ambassade by Henri Meilhac and the subsequent operetta and film The Merry Widow. Pontevedro is a veiled reference to the Balkan country of Montenegro.
  • Porchesia: A small, peaceful apocryphal island nation inhabited primarily by persons of Lebanese descent; according to Uncyclopedia, the nation's flag depicts a unicorn.
  • Porto Guava: A small police state in Latin America featured in the Joe 90 episode "Big Fish".
  • Porto Santo: a tiny island nation in Latin America visited by Steve Urkel in the Family Matters episode "South of the Border" (Note: Porto Santo is a real island of Madeira Archipelago).
  • Potarneyland, Republic of: A country situated somewhere on the Indian subcontinent and featured in several episodes of The Navy Lark.
  • Pottibakia: Balkan country from the short story "What Does it Matter? A Morality" by E. M. Forster. Capital city: Ekarest.
  • Povia: a small monarchy in the Balkans in the Mission: Impossible TV episode "The Heir Apparent"
  • Poyais: a fictional Central American country invented by the 19th Century adventurer Gregor MacGregor in order to gain a lot of money from credulous people in Britain and France
  • Pulsovia: an Eastern European country where Jarek comes from in the Spanish sketch program La hora de José Mota.
  • Prajevitza: a former socialist republic in Eastern Europe, in the Spanish-French film Krapatchouk (1993), directed by Enrique Gabriel

  • Wadiya: a North African dictatorship in the territory of Eritrea in the 2012 film The Dictator.
  • Wallarya: a small country in the Balkans in the film His Royal Highness
  • Waponi Wu: A small island in the South Pacific, home to the Waponi tribe in the film Joe Versus the Volcano.
  • West Monrassa: Central African country in an episode of Spooks. Run by President Gabriel Sakoa, a corrupt leader planning a genocide against people in the north of the country
  • West Prophets: A powerful country under communist dictatorship heavily backed by the Soviet Union in the novel Operation Roughneck.
  • West Xylophone: A country mentioned by the band They Might Be Giants for their song 'Alphabet of Nations' in order to fulfill the requirements of representing every letter.   • Xerxes: an ancient and advanced country which existed in the Great Desert to the East of modern day Amestris, four centuries before the events of the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It is the native country of Ed and Al's estranged father Van Hohenheim.

  • Yakastonia: mountainous eastern European nation, where yodeling is prominent in local culture, but so is surfing on its coast. An important landmark is Mount Bubneboba, and its fresh mountain air is celebrated worldwide. A traditional greeting is doing an armpit fart while repeating the word "zwooba!". Home of exchange student Fentruck on the animated series Doug.
  • Yangdon: a fictional kingdom from the Philippine television drama Princess and I. It is based on the real-life Bhutan.
  • Yatakang: archipelagic Australasian "guided socialist democracy" from John Brunner's novel Stand on Zanzibar. Apparently roughly in the region of, and analogous to, Indonesia.
  • Yerba: a fictional country featured in the Victorious episode "Locked Up!"
  • Yo-Ho Island: An island that has a hidden treasure. Animated movie Shiver Me Wishers
  • Youstinkistan: From the Fairly Odd Parents episode "Timmy Turnip". Timmy's grandparents lived there when they were younger and moved to the USA to sell yakburgers.
  • Yudonia: a country mentioned in the episode "We're Married" from Drake & Josh sitcom. Its national animal is a goat, it is displayed in the nation's flag and its meat cannot be eaten in the country, similar to cows in India.
  • Yugaria: small Balkan nation from the video game Mission: Impossible - Operation Surma
  • Yukon Confederacy: a country in the novel Fitzpatrick's War by Theodore Judson
  • Yuktobania: a country that appeared in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, briefly mentioned in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War. The country is a mirror of the Soviet Union.
  • Yurp: a poor country depicted in I Am Weasel animated TV series (a pun on "Europe").
  • Yurugli: an Eastern European country in the film Our Lips Are Sealed where crime family Hatchew is from. Name is a play on of you're ugly. It borders with Poland, Ukraine and Belarus.
