Wrong temperature values for Manila: The temperature values for Manila are much too high, as per both the cited source and the Wikipedia Manila article. Manila is not warmer on average than Bangkok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AshtarGent (talk • contribs) 11:24, 9 April 2018 (UTC) I have corrected the Manila temperatures as per cited source, which cites integer values. However, the Wikipedia "Manila" article has somewhat different values (and decimal values), apparently it has another source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AshtarGent (talk • contribs) 11:37, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
Port Vila, Vanuatu
[edit]Port Vila, Vanuatu is entirey inaccurate. It's not that cold over there! — Stevey7788 (talk) 17:28, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Threshold for classification as a city
[edit]Is there any population threshold or another standard this article should use for determining what settlements are and are not "cities"? Extreme temperatures tend to be recorded in sparsely-populated areas, as they are often directly or indirectly responsible for the area's low population. Countries in Oceania with weather stations recording very high average annual temperature missing in the table
[edit]There are at least two countries in Oceania with weather stations recording average annual temperature above that of Darwin and are not in the table. These ones are Kiribati (Tarawa weather station: https://www.pacificclimatechangescience.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/11_PCCSP_Kiribati_8pp.pdf) and Tuvalu (Funafuti weather station: https://www.pacificclimatechangescience.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Tuvalu.pdf), both recording more than 28 ºC most years from the 1970s. Other sources where average temperature data can be found are these ones: - For Tarawa: average T=28.6 ºC from 2000 to 2019 (https://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?FMM=1&FYY=2000&LMM=12&LYY=2019&WMO=91610&CONT=aupa®ION=0029&LAND=KB&ART=TEM&R=161&NOREGION=1&LEVEL=162&LANG=en&MOD=tab), mean T=28.6 ºC from 2013 to 2016 (https://en.tutiempo.net/climate/ws-916020.html), estimated Kiribati points above 28 ºC from 1982 to 2012 (https://en.climate-data.org/oceania/kiribati-174/), estimated average annual T=28.6 ºC (83.5 ºF) from 1980 to 2016 (https://weatherspark.com/y/149502/Average-Weather-at-Bonriki-International-Airport-Kiribati-Year-Round). - For Funafuti: Tuvalu mean annual temperature is approximately 29 ºC (http://informet.net/tuvmet/climate.html), average T=28.8 ºC from 2000 to 2019 (https://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?LANG=en&PLZ=_____&PLZN=_____&WMO=91643&CONT=aupa&R=160&LEVEL=162®ION=0029&LAND=TV&MOD=tab&ART=TEM&NOREGION=1&FMM=1&FYY=2000&LMM=12&LYY=2019), average T=28.4 ºC from 1981 to 1992 and average T=28.9 ºC from 2010 to 2019 (https://en.tutiempo.net/climate/ws-916430.html), estimated average T= 28.0 from 1982 to 2012 (https://en.climate-data.org/oceania/tuvalu/funafuti/funafuti-1026957/), estimated average annual T=28.6 ºC (83.5 ºF) from 1980 to 2016 (https://weatherspark.com/y/144957/Average-Weather-in-Funafuti-Tuvalu-Year-Round). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex alto (talk • contribs) 09:50, 8 April 2020 (UTC) I had not realized that those stations are not placed at or near cities, so they do not fit in this Wikipedia entry. And there are better sources of climate data for the places I mention too.
Important weather station in Africa missing
[edit]I think that Nema (Mauritania) should be in the African table, since it has the highest mean annual temperature: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/N%C3%A9ma#Climate — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex alto (talk • contribs) 12:12, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
Reference period?
[edit]What is the reference period for the average temperatures? 1970-2000? This should be stated.
Denpasar temperatures
[edit]Denpasar temperatures are too low and differ from those given in the Wikipedia article on Denpasar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.99.9.162 (talk) 09:22, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
Urban heat island effect
[edit]Where exactly should the temperatures listed refer to? To the city center? Some airport nearby? A suburb? Depending on the size of the city (and other factors) there may be a big deviation between the temperature at the city center and the surroundings of the city due to Urban heat island. Vilnius, Lithuania
[edit]That is the old temperature norm, both for each month and the annual average. They readjusted it, to keep pace with rising temperatures, the new averages are definitely higher. Sand23 (talk) 15:14, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
Orphaned references in List of cities by average temperature
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of cities by average temperature's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT⚡ 09:58, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
