Not done It is not entirely clear what you want changed but if you are asking for Techno Gamerz to be added to the list then I'm afraid that that is not possible as we do not currently have an article about them. I don't know whether they are notable enough to have an article but, if they are, that article would need to be created before they could be listed here. --DanielRigal (talk) 11:44, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

YouTubers without a page

Should the YouTubers listed here without an appropriate Wikipedia page (not their channels), be deleted? MattSucci (talk) 11:27, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

@MattSucci, um, that's the person's name, chosen name (not dead name), stage name, or whatever type of name they go by publicly. Redundant to remove them since their channel has an article. Plus, having their name is, I would guess, important. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 03:22, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
@Mr. C.C., the reason I ask is the ambiguity in the warning when one begins to make an edit.
Attention!
Per the consensus reached in a February 2017 request for comment:
Add only people who already have a Wikipedia article. Do not add people who are not known for their contributions on YouTube even if they have a YouTube presence and are notable by Wikipedia's standards. Any additions that fail these requirements will be removed.
Per the consensus reached in a June 2018 request for comment (permanent link), there is no need to add references to this list solely to verify that the artist is indeed a notable YouTuber. Please add these references to the article about the artist instead.
Please keep the list in alphabetical order. Thanks.
"Add only people who already have a Wikipedia article?" Does this mean an article on the actual YouTuber or a Wikipedia article on the YouTube channel? Regards, MattSucci (talk) 04:54, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
Another question:
User: Anthony Padilla. (No Wiki article)
Country: United States.
Channel: AnthonyPadilla. (No Wiki article)
Notes: Co-founder of Smosh, currently famous for his series I spent a day with _. (No Wiki article)
As much as I like Tony, and his work on Numberphile, should he be listed here? Regards, MattSucci (talk) 05:10, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
@MattSucci, you clearly ignored where I said if there is an article for a YouTube channel, then the user is listed. Not having an article for every single thing they've done on YouTube is irrelevant. If you want that, it's on you to establish notability.
-Anthony Padilla is the co-founder of Smosh.
-Alex Apollonov's channel I did a thing has an article.
-Ann Reardon's channel How To Cook That has an article.
-John Iadarola doesn't have an article, but is apart of The Young Turks.
-Chef and Francis's channel Cooking with Dog has an article.
-Chris Atkinson and Jeremy Scott don't have articles, but one of their channels CinemaSins does.
-Clint Basinger doesn't have an article, but his channel Lazy Game Reviews does.
-Guillermo Ibáñez doesn't have an article, but his one channel Willyrex does.
-Gursimran Khamba doesn't have an article, but is apart of the channel All India Bakchod.
-Ian Danskin's channel Innuendo Studios has an article.
-Tel Stewart, Paul Anderson, and Al van der Beek don't have articles, but they're apart of, get this, The Piano Guys.
-Julian Baumgartner's channel Baumgartner Restoration has an article.
-Kasun Deegoda Gamage's channel Travel with Wife has an article.
-Mack and Damer's channel OCR Kings has an article.
-Scott Buchanan's channel pannenkoek2012 has an article.
-Paul Barbato's channel Geography Now has an article.
-Scott Wozniak's one channel Scott the Woz has an article.
-Stephen Deleonardis's one channel Nelk has an article.
Not sure what's hard to understand. The number of users without an article is few and far between. But at least one of their channels have an article. That's reason for inclusion. So no, they won't be removed. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 06:29, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
No offence intended, I simply found the warning slightly ambiguous. Questions answered. Anyone with a substantial connection to a channel can be listed. Regards, MattSucci (talk) 06:35, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
@MattSucci, offense? Who is offended? I know you're not talking about me. I'm never offended. Make sure you use that term right. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 06:56, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

@151.71.229.195, Read WP:INVALIDBIO. You have to be able to establish notability of the subject. Google hits aren't a metric for notability. You can have lots of hits for your name, but that doesn't necessarily make you notable. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 00:55, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

I have multiple youtubers to be added.

The names of them are: Tyler Collins(username is JimmyHere), he mostly makes You Laugh You Lose videos, and is a part of a group channel named Couch Cast. Nathaniel Bandy(username is the same as his real name, Nathaniel Bandy), his channel content is mainly focused on Nintendo, and his most popular video is called, “Can You Beat Super Mario 64 DS Without Mario?”. The final youtuber that I suggest should be added is Luke Lerdwichagul(username is SMG4), and he is known for creating animated/machinima videos. That concludes the 3 YouTubers that should be added to this list. Thanks for reading this post, if you even did, and didn’t scroll past this post. PleaseDontBlockMe3 (talk) 19:46, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

Please, consider adding an entry for video game programmer Jonathan Blow. The given Wikipedia article references his YouTube channel [1], which is used to showcase his work process and communicate his ideas. Volokh0x (talk) 06:18, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

 Not done for now:
Hello. Per the lead of this article, YouTubers are people mostly known for their work on the video sharing platform YouTube. Blow is almost exclusively known as a video game developer, not as a youtube content creator. His biography doesn't actually mention his youtube channel at all, it merely links to his channel as a convenience. Do you know of a reliable source which describes him as a "YouTuber"? Grayfell (talk) 06:31, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
Indeed, he is mostly known to a general public for his tech projects rather than the channel. Whether his channel is "popular enough" is up to you to decide. But I see that it can be problematic to consider him as "YouTuber" until he gets mentioned as one by other sources. Volokh0x (talk) 17:14, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Lots of people have YouTube channels, but that's not what they're known for. He known is know for being a video game programmer not a YouTuber. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 18:27, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Shivarghya Gamer

Shivarghya Bhattacharya, populary known as SG or Shivarghya is a Indian YouTuber from India. He created his YouTube Channel on 22 April, 2023 and had crossed 11subscribers on YouTube. Shivarghya Gamer (talk) 08:21, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

If this is a request to have this name added to the list, I'm afraid a youtube channel that was just created in April of this year and has 11 followers is not going to be notable anough for a full Wikipedia article about it, which is the standard for inclusion on this list. Beeblebrox (talk) 16:34, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
What do you mean? Shivarghya Gamer (talk) 08:06, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
It means that you need to have maybe 10 lakh subscribers to possibly be notable enough. If everyone who had 11 subscribers had a Wikipedia article, there would not be anything special about it. Maybe if you one day get 10 lakh subscribers, then someone maybe will write an article about you. For now, focus on more important things, being a YouTube star isn't as good as it might appear. Sources for this article?

I've recently noticed that a plethora of "citation needed" tags appeared in the article. I can't locate it at the moment, but I believe in one of the earlier discussions there was consensus that the list didn't require any outside of exceptional claims, as the notable YouTubers already spoke for themselves in terms of verifiability.  Not done per the message that was probably displayed while you were typing that message: All new entries must be for artists who already have their own Wikipedia article. Requests for entries on persons who do not already have a Wikipedia article will be declined. Belbury (talk) 18:03, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Technoblade appears in the list twice

One entry should be removed Svxvvz (talk) 07:28, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

@Svxvvz, if you are able to, you can remove it yourself which I see you did. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 03:20, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

How Did Nobody Notice?

References and citation needed tags were added to the article. The citation needed tags were added in October. Per the consensus reached in a June 2018 request for comment (permanent link), there is no need to add references to this list solely to verify that the artist is indeed a notable YouTuber. How did nobody notice this or revert it? I understand we're all human, but I would think someone would have seen it and reverted. I removed them all. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 05:27, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

For the record, I posted this exact same concern over a month ago to discuss whether consensus had somehow changed since that last discussion. But apparently only two people read this page per week, so mine got archived. PantheonRadiance (talk) 22:25, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
@PantheonRadiance, you could have WP:RFC. That's always an option. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:53, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
Rather than bickering over the templates you could just add the references as required. There is no reason why this page should be exempt from usual verification requirements, if someone's a notable YouTuber there should be sources indicating that, and the citation needed tags are entirely valid.  — Amakuru (talk) 10:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
@Amakuru, you didn't use "bickering" in the way you thought you did. Nobody is "bickering." Adding citation tags to each is redundant considering the additional citation notice covers all of that. You were never concerned with references till you saw this. Plus, adding references as "required" is redundant as everything on this list should be referenced. You don't pick and choose what to reference and what not to reference. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 18:14, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
In light of this discussion, maybe another RfC should take place. Personally I agree there's also no need for references if the list already contains notable YouTubers, outside of exceptional claims. PantheonRadiance (talk) 19:05, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
@PantheonRadiance, "...outside of exceptional claims" ala Chris Hansen. I removed him as he's not notable for YouTube. He is notable for To Catch a Predator, Dateline NBC, and other TV programs. A big part of inclusion on this list is having became notable because of YouTube. Again, not so with Chris Hansen. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 21:08, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

I'm not aware of any general consensus that requires references, but it might be worth asking on relevant talk pages or noticeboards. I've removed the tags. Mr. C.C. removed the existing references, which makes me cringe a bit. I don't think they should be required, but they can be very helpful, especially for the Notes. My rule-of-thumb for lists like this is to have references for notes and descriptions so verification and other policy concerns can be easily checked. --Hipal (talk) 21:44, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

@Hipal, there was no opposition in said discussion as you can clearly see. Those references were not there till more recently. Whoever added them should have started a discussion to see if consensus has changed. Consensus does change overtime and it's good to revisit it. But PantheonRadiance said, he brought it up in October and nobody responded. I'm all for RFC. Until consensus is reached in favour, leave the references out.
Pinging SoWhy as he was was involved in said discussion. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:32, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
A WP:LOCALCONSENSUS discussion on an individual talk page cannot override the sitewide policy of WP:V and also the list-specific guideline at WP:LISTVERIFY. All entries in the list must be cited, to verify that they meet the criteria set out. Ideally the whole thing would be cited to sources explicitly listing those entrants, not failing that, explicit secondary sourcing indicating notability is a must.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:14, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. I agree that LISTVERIFY applies. Removal of references and citation needed-tags should not be made without addressing the policy issues. --Hipal (talk) 02:16, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

Lack of cross icon next to Youtuber's name

Unfortunately, there is an element of this article that can do with fixing. Youtuber Muudea Sedik (Twomad) has passed away, as evidenced by the citation in his row of the list [2], but he doesn't have a cross symbol (like this: †) next to his name unlike other youtubers in the list who have passed away. So, if someone could add it, that would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, and have a nice day! 90.139.189.126 (talk) 15:57, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Request for a few ones not mentioned

Hello there, but when I was sorting through, I didn't find Pioneers Productions/ Ember's Ghost Squad, or those other people who have done terrible crimes. Ones like Randy Stair and Elliot Rodger have pages for their crimes, but should they be added? In my opinion, I think not, but it's up to y'all. Why are users in bold? It's an unnecessary use of it. They weren't in bold prior. Doesn't make sense to do it. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 19:02, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

It looks like this edit [3] last month did it, there certainly wasn't any discussion here, and I tend to agree that it is not necessary for every single entry to be bolded. Perhaps @Mwtipp: can provide some reasoning ng for this, I don't really know what a sticky header is. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 19:13, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, my bad i added Sticky header to that list, because it's way to long to scroll back up to check the header - unfortunately i removed the Plain row headers. I fixed it.

Throw this list into the sun

None of these people are notable and this list does a disservice to Wikipedia. It should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.52.243.29 (talk) 08:26, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

The page describes itself as a list of YouTubers for whom Wikipedia has articles either under their own name or their YouTube channel name, which is practically what "notable" means on Wikipedia. So it should not be removed on that basis. Belbury (talk) 09:49, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
