Unrated Tornadoes

[edit]

Is NWS Norman just not going to rate the remaining tornadoes from November 7? It sure has been awhile without any word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.6.165.100 (talkcontribs) 00:01, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Tornadoes

[edit]

Birmingham has recently added a tornado from Dec 21 and Peachtree City has added several tornadoes from Dec 22. I don't have time to add them so I was wondering if someone else could add them. United States Man (talk) 22:53, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the tornadoes TornadoLGS. United States Man (talk) 03:20, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unrated Tornado

[edit]

It appears that data for November from the SPC is finally out. It lists the total for the month at 44, but we apparently have a 45th "confirmed but unrated" tornado from the New Orleans WFO. What information is available on this? I strongly suspect that it was later determined either to not be a tornado, or a continuation of one that was already confirmed. When the NCDC information comes out we can see if it is listed as a tornado on there. United States Man (talk) 20:14, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think the unrated tornado is really one of the Louisiana tornadoes. I can only find two of them. The tornadoes were on the 16th instead of the 15th. United States Man (talk) 02:06, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After further research, the terrebonne parish EF1 does not exist. The data on the wiki page says terrebonne parish but the town and coordinates are from tangipahoa parish. NCDC does not have anything in that parish and neither does the NWS. So, should that tornado be taken off? United States Man (talk) 04:02, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
