Same Name Redirect
[edit]Does anyone else seem to notice that "List of Star Wars species (A-E)" Redirects back to "List of Star Wars species (A-E)"? Is there any logical reason for this? Jdaniels15 (talk) 13:07, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- Jdaniels15, the reason for this is that the redirect has a dash between "A" and "E" while this article has an en dash in the title. In the past I have seen edit wars and WP:MOS discussions about if people should use dash, en-dash, em-dash, etc. in various situations and suspect the redirects were one of the consequences coming out of the discussions and/or disagreements.
- Here you can see what the dashes look like:
- * List of Star Wars species (A–E) - This article with the en-dash in the title.
- * List of Star Wars species (A-E) - With a dash in the title. Clicking this will redirect to the A-en-dash-E article.
- * List of Star Wars races (A–E) - With an en-dash in the title. Clicking this will redirect to the A-en-dash-E article.
- * List of Star Wars races (A-E) - With a dash in the title. Clicking this will redirect to the A-en-dash-E article.
- At the bottom of the edit box for Wikipedia articles and talk pages you should see "Insert" followed by an en–dash, em—dash, degree sign, single right curly quote, double right curly quote, etc. Press the minus/dash/hyphen key to get a normal dash. --Marc Kupper|talk 22:08, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Citation needed?
[edit]Ehr, you guys do know that Star Wars is a *fictional* universe and these are *fictional* species and all the info is taken from movies, books, comics or games, do you? How on earth is a person supposed to provide source for such information online? Admvenom
- Simple: you cite the movies, books, comics or games that the information came from. It doesn't have to be an online source, in fact most of the stuff already in the References section is for books. The purpose of citations is so that editors who are unfamiliar with the information in the article can go to a source and verify that the information is correct. For example, I have never heard of the "Anx" before. How can I go about confirming that there is such a race in the Star Wars canon, and it's not something that some editor just made up on the spot? See Wikipedia:Verifiability for more information on this sort of thing. Bryan 17:55, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Duplicates
[edit]Bando Gora and B'omarr monks are also found in the List of minor Star Wars organizations. We probably don't need a double of those, and if "the B'omarr are not actually a race," shouldn't we just leave it to the article in organizations? —Skope (talk) 17:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
improvement
[edit]Seeing as Wookiepedia has all of these species much more in detail, would it be wrong to copy them from wookiepedia? ILovePlankton(L—n) 23:50, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Modal Nodes.jpg
[edit]The image Image:Modal Nodes.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

No Calamari?
[edit]What about the Calamari? Do they go by some other name? LogicalOctopus (talk) 04:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
I think that they call themselves the Mon Calamari. 01:25 PM, 16 Monday 2010 (UTC-5)
Change in entry needed (bad/old info)
[edit]'Assemblers' should (more than likely, given the major similarities) be changed to Colicoids. Source: Ultimate Alien Anthologies. Share the same appearance, same behaviour, intellect, etc., etc. Even the name given in the article for it here is a slight dirivation of the example names of the species. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.193.203.107 (talk) 10:03, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Strike that. (more/better info: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Assembler ) But an entry for Colicoids should be made, none the less.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.193.203.107 (talk) 10:09, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Carondians?
[edit]After a search of Wookieepedia, and The Essential Atlas, I have not found anything about "Carondians" or "Caronda". It needs to be cited. Darthkayak (talk) 03:58, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Introduction
[edit]The introduction seems a little bit confusing, because it does not mention the prequels (Episodes I, II, and III). Is there a reason for this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.46.148.99 (talk) 04:19, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Citations and Revisions Needed
[edit]For a school assignment, I evaluated the article and found that certain sections are lacking in citations and are in need of more information. I have added more information on the Balosar section and added citations to the section. I have also added more citations where needed to the section on Besaliks.User:Snappedrain23 (talk) 16:47, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- Snappedrain23, I appreciate your article improvement (haven't looked at that yet), but for the review you will need to do more--as we discussed in class. And a list article on a fictional world is probably not the best thing to review: I suggest you find an article with a lot of text on some real topic.
