Merging of Seska article

[edit]
Resolved

It's been suggested that the article on Seska be merged into "List of minor recurring characters in Star Trek: Voyager".

There's a tag to do a rewrite to remove "in-universe" style, so it's difficult to say what a rewritten, expanded article will look like. However the Memory Alpha article, by way of contrast, is quite long and would not be suitable for merger if that material was included.

If the response to remove "in-universe" style were to include information from the Martha Hackett interview on the DVDs, this article could have considerable substance.

Without getting perilously into original research, it would be useful to note that Seska was used as a series device — portraying a sometimes empathetic character who alternately emphasized viewpoints held by other parts of the crew at large. I.e., at various points she represents Maquis, Cardassian, Federation, and Kazon-Nistrim positions — while not entirely adopting of any of them. It would seem this makes her an essential element tying together the overall storyline in a way that other recurring characters do not.

If article can be expanded, let's leave it separate.

Thoughts?

Well if "Guinan" was just a minor character in Star Trek TNG, then Seska should be as well. so id say yes.--Dr. Pizza (talk) 19:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, merger completed. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 23:12, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
