Reverse Chronological Order, desirable?
[edit]Thought I saw this suggested in the discussion when the list was on European Windstorm, however I can't see it now. Lacunae (talk) 17:42, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Makeover
[edit]I have removed some of the non-notable storms. Non-notable is storms that produced strong winds and basically every European windstorm causes strong winds. Bruvtakesover (T|C) 15:34, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Defining windstorm/ list of notable low pressure systems in Europe required/ or a list page of extreme weather in the UK/British isles
[edit]This list is becoming a list of European Low pressure systems. European windstorm is a name given to the strongest Extratropical cyclones[1] forming in the Atlantic basin.[2]Lacunae (talk) 15:45, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
Recommended pages to consult for notability of windstorms Perils AG, RMS Reactions, Alert Air-Worldwide and Eqecat Catwatch.Lacunae (talk) 14:53, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
Regarding Notability and names of windstorms; I think in reference to the UK and Ireland naming, following the pattern used with the Nordic names, a storm is notable to be listed if named by a met agency. In the event of conflicting names the name used in the country with greatest damages should be preferred here, if still in conflict use the FUB name as most neutral. Providing the FUB name in the description is also helpful as it can be referred to the surface pressure archive and life history archive of FUB. A storm will still only generally be worth creating an article of its own for if it exceeds the Perils loss investigation level, though this generally doesn't apply to the Nordic region where population density and therefore losses are much lower.Lacunae (talk) 02:07, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

new system
[edit]should we create separate pages for each new year of european windstorms similar to what we do to atlantic hurricane seasons like 2014 list of european windstorms or low pressure systems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.33.67.7 (talk) 12:24, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Update needed
[edit]The list ends in 2020 which is three years ago as I write. Too much for me to update and I'm not certain of definitions but I may add in recent events - but there would then be a gap. Thelisteninghand (talk) 19:19, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
