Rename of articles
[edit]Would anyone object to the the article being named form the foo, Baltimore to foo, Baltimore, Maryland, this would be more along the lines of other current neighborhod articles for other U.S. cities, though not all use it. Would elinimate any disimabugation problems from having a single name, and i think would just generaly look better. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 07:55, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Foo? Can you explain that to me in plain English, or refer me to a link? I can't comment on something I don't understand (LOL!). Davidbober 17:39, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's a convention taken from casual computer speak, where "foo" is a variable, or (in plain English) stands in for something that could change. Thus, he's asking if he can change article names from "[NAME OF NEIGHBORHOOD HERE], Baltimore" to "[NAME OF NEIGHBORHOOD HERE], Baltimore, Maryland" to follow the pattern that neighborhood articles from other cities use. Make sense? --Jfruh 19:24, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry i havn't had the chance to update the list as of yet, i have a backlong of things i have beening doing on here, as well as several ongoing disputes, as well as some stuff in the real world. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 03:24, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
New Articles, Peer Review
[edit]I have added new articles for Brewer's Hill, Baltimore, Greektown, Baltimore, Highlandtown, Baltimore, and Union Square, Baltimore. Please review and update as required. Thanks! Davidbober 18:55, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Map
[edit]I've created and added a map of Baltimore's neighborhoods. It's unfortunately too complex to be readable at a small resolution, so I've given it an enormous thumbnail, which may be a bit disruptive to the format of the page for some readers. An alternative that would take care of this problem would be to break the map into chunks according to the north, northeast, central, etc. scheme. Personally, though, I think the advantage of being able to see it all together outweighs the disadvantage of size. --Peter Talk 07:35, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Someone removed the map under the edit summary "cleanup." It seems obvious to me that a map is beneficial to the article, so I have restored it. --Peter Talk 16:34, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- I agree the map is very beneficial. Just a slight correction... You've listed Riverside twice on the map, once properly in South Baltimore and once mislabeling Greektown. I'm not nagging or anything I just thought you'd want to know. Best. -JM — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.98.161 (talk) 18:32, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I like the map as well, allowed me to find which neighborhood I'd been born in, but it's misspelled. Lake Evesham (not Eveshaw). Ban Bridges (talk) 15:55, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
Map items and list items
[edit]It seems there are some neighbourhoods listed in the map that are not also listed in the article itself, e.g., Oldtown and Downtown. Are these listed in the article under other names? Are they simply missing from the article? Are these names included in the map erroneously? And, precisely in which neighbourhood is Baltimore City Hall located? allixpeeke (talk) 03:42, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
