Bubble Up

[edit]

Why isn't it on the template for lemon-lime drinks?

-PK9 00:53, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of it. Maybe whoever made the template hasn't either. --Brandon Dilbeck 01:00, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My recollection is Bubble Up was the first lemon-lime soda in a 16 oz bottle during the time (mid-late '50s) the soda was bottled in and distributed from Peoria, Illinois. I think it may have been a regional brand. Its taste was similar to 7-Up.

Bubble Up as a brand seemed to fade out about the time Sprite was introduced.

A Lemon-lime soda missing from the discussion is Sprig, which name has been hijacked by a THC-infused brand, but it was a lemon-lima soda when I first drank it in Colorado in the late '50s, and my recollection is it had some lemon-lime pulp.

Lemon-lime vs Lemonade

[edit]

'Lemon-lime soda is termed "lemonade" in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. What is more commonly known as lemonade in the latter two countries is called "lemon squash"'

I have no idea what this gibberish means; what is more commonly know as "lemonade" in Australia is called "lemonade" in Australia.

Are you trying to say "What is known as 'lemonade' in the US is called 'lemon squash' in Australia"?

Is lemonade called 'lemon squash' in Australia? (lemonade as it means in America existed as such long before lemon-lime soda existed, so I think our lemonade is entitled to the exclusive title of 'real lemonade' :P ) Firejuggler86 (talk) 18:33, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with lemonade?

[edit]

I've been clearing up the lemonade article lately and have separated it to clearly cover the two forms, cloudy (US) and clear (UK, AUS) lemonade. Considering that lemon-lime drinks fall under the category of clear lemonade, and this article doesn't say much that isn't already stated in the lemonade article, would it be better to merge this into the larger article? The list of brands can stay as its own page of course. Atreem (talk) 23:45, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 14 August 2022

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. This article is currently a list as it stands. An article on lemon-lime drinks could be made, but it would be more accurate to call the current article a list, and as such I have moved it.
