Confused

[edit]

I'm confused. I can't see the earlier edit history of the main article here. For example, going back to the 7th of this month. Any thoughts? Tx.--Epeefleche (talk) 07:30, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Independent refs

[edit]

I think it would be great, to establish notability for this article (if it is in fact notable--from what I have seen, similar articles have been deleted often at AfD as non-notable), if we had some independent RS refs. That will demonstrate its notability. Text that is not referenced won't help in that regard. And non-independent refs do not confer notability. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:03, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hurling is (with Gaelic football) one of the principal mass-participation sports in Ireland, and the All-Ireland Championships, of which the four provincial championships are components, are hugely important and popular competitions. The GAA, which runs the championships, is uniquely integrated into national life, having clubs in every parish in Ireland. The final of the Leinster MHC takes place in one of the largest stadiums in Europe, Croke Park. The notability of this championship might be less apparent outside Ireland than it is in the country, but I have added some media reports, and hope that other editors will add RS references. I hear you. I think that still falls short of what we look for in our notability standards, especially as to non-senior competitions, absent sufficient independent RS coverage. See, for example, Wikipedia:Notability (significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject) and Wikipedia:Notability (sports) (multiple published non-trivial secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject). In my experience, that has been the problem with some prior articles. Also, many of these articles have text that is completely uncited, which is independently an issue for that specific text.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:52, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
