Walmart Bash?

[edit]

Does the article really need the veiled bash at Walmart regarding the privately-owned drive-in theater's owner selling his privately owned property to the corporation so that they could build a larger store? Does this really lend anything at all to the article? 98.232.202.44 (talk) 17:57, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm generally pro-drivein and anti-Walmart, but you are absolutely right. If the former theater is worth mentioning, someone needs to write up a cited history of it to place in that section. Things get torn down all the time to build other things. This may or may not be evil on the part of a corporation. If the protest against such demolition is particularly newsworthy (that is, it makes news outside the local area), again, it needs to be cited. Valfontis (talk) 21:31, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the support. I'm definitely pro-Drive-in, but indifferent-Walmart. As a local resident, I was definitely disappointed in the decision of the owners to sell, but it is what it is. I agree, there's no issue with discussing the situation in an article about the theater, if it even merits an article, this article just didn't seem the place. 98.232.202.44 (talk) 04:04, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that that part is out of place. It isn't even remotely neutral at the moment. And if that issue is going to be discussed, it needs to be discussed in a more balanced manner. I think I'll go take care of it right now. AcrosstheLitVerse (talk) 07:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ideas for Inclusion

[edit]

I guess, more than anything else, this is just to remind me of what I was thinking of adding. That being said, if someone else gets to it first, that's fine, too. But I think it would be good to talk about the golf courses and the race track, as well as expand the section on the Strawberry festival. Maybe it would be good to mention the pirate "conventions(?)" too. AcrosstheLitVerse (talk) 07:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
