Lava plainLava field – I believe that this is the most common name. Even 'lava bed' has more hits, 279K v 66K for the present title and 414K for the proposed title. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:41, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing problems

[edit]

I have tagged "Wood and Shoan, 1984", "Wells, et al., 1989", and "Wood, 1979" as needing full citations. DuncanHill (talk) 11:17, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Initial Article Evaluation

[edit]

Hello,

I am a student at Georgia Institute of Technology who will be working on this article for a class project. This is a basic initial evaluation of the article at its present state, on 14 October 2021.

The content of the article currently covers the basic definition as well as some noteworthy examples of lava fields. There are a few sentences in the introduction which are not completely clear and distract from the subject, such as the note regarding the best way to view a lava field in the first paragraph. Some additions to the article that can be made to better inform readers of the topic are the process of formation, notable scientists involved, physical and chemical properties, presence on other planetary bodies, and if there is any threat to human life or the environment. There are also a few problems with a lack of citations. Overall, the article presents a very basic, neutral definition of a lava field, but does not give the reader enough information to understand what it is and how it affects the world.

Thank you, and please let me know if there is anything I should add or edit further.
