Cultural references
[edit]This edit was made with the edit summary "OR", and then reverted in this edit. The edit concerned the removal of two points in the "Cultural references" section:
- Marshall and Lily compare Robin making herself scarce around the gang with Sasquatch and Yeti sightings.
- Tracy and Ted are engaged for 5 years before getting married. This is a possible subtle reference to the film, The Five Year Engagment, which starred fellow co-star Jason Segel.
Neither were sourced. While the Sasquatch and Yeti sightings thing is explicitly talked about in the episode, and should probably remain in, I think the latter could constitute original research, unless a source can be found. What does everyone else think? Bilorv (talk) 16:29, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Alternate ending
[edit]The "Alternate Ending" section features a ridiculously long and convoluted sentence:
" This ending, omitting the entire illness storyline after the final scene at MacLaren's pub, and the breakup of Barney and Robin, features Future Ted (voiced by Bob Saget) summarizing the events of the entire series that led to him meeting the mother before Ted and Tracy are shown meeting as they did in the "original/broadcast" cut of the episode and cutting to black as the scene ends with the train appearing in front of the pair and the yellow umbrella floating down the road."
I had to read this over a few times before I understood what was being said. I'm going to simplify it and break it up into a few sentences.Sadiemonster (talk) 16:37, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

The copy changes are mostly minor, except you have some uncited material (maybe added since this page went to GAN), and I'd like to see the Reception section redone completely. Ping when addressed. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 00:40, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
- Looking good so far and looking forward to see your Reception section rework. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 07:30, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
- I can hopefully have this done in the next day or so, however reception is arguably the thing I struggle the most at. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 09:31, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Did you know? If you fancy doing so, I always have plenty of GA nominees to review. Just look for the all-uppercase titles in the Television section. Reviews always appreciated.

- Other cut scenes feature Robin, wearing her Robin Sparkles jeans jacket over her wedding dress, singing "Let's Go to the Mall" (2007) with the Mother's band at the wedding reception, and a montage showing Tracy's funeral. Change "and a montage" to "as well as a montage" to help the comma hierarchy not get lost. Done

Reception
[edit]- Restructure to be more holistic instead of segmented by author/commentator. See Wikipedia:Copyediting reception sections. There's little integration of the commonalities between each commentator.
- Reduce quote use. The quotes are too long.
Sourcing and spot checks
[edit]- The Metro source is unreliable and should be removed. Done
- I am fine with the Reddit AMA used for Saget's own words.
