COI editor

[edit]

this edit was made by 216.56.24.162 (talk · contribs), which is an IP address at that high school. This represents a conflict of interest. All COI edits must be made with care and must be well-sourced. By all rights I should revert the edit. Instead, I'll tag it {{fact}}. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 18:51, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This reads like an advertisement

[edit]

This article seriously needs a cleanup in that regard. Too much fluff and promotion.BGinOC (talk) 22:38, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Status of school

[edit]

Lakeland Union High School is the only school in the Lakeland Union High School district. The district page has been created. Please read about Union districts in Wisconsin here: http://dpi.wi.gov/sfs/statistical/basic-facts/uhs-system.

Course offerings are listed on other high school pages. Please see: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Lane_Technical_College_Prep_High_School and https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Rhinelander_High_School as examples. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woodlc75 (talkcontribs) 22:58, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is in other articles is irrelevant to this one. Listings of courses offered is mundane in that virtually every school offers virtually the same courses, it has no encyclopedic value as the information is of no utility except to locals and this encyclopedia is meant to serve the entire English speaking world. (The information should be available for the locals on the school website.) Wikipedia is expressly per policy not a directory and not an advertisement. If you want to edit school articles, it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the guidelines for them. They will show you that listing AP courses is allowed, as at Lane Tech. I've removed the unencyclopedic academics section at Rhinelander High School. Thanks for pointing that out. John from Idegon (talk) 03:35, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
