Talk:La Martinière College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The three schools in Lyon that form the French branch of La Martinière are part of the French state-run education system and offer therefore a secular and coed education, with a staff depending of the Department of Education. These are Lycées, corresponding to American senior high schools (10th grade to 12th grade).

However, the memory of Major Claude Martin is celebrated and the schools adopted Martin's motto. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.233.52.36 (talkcontribs) .

Plans for this page

[edit]

You may have noticed that there has been a lot of activity on La Martiniere Lucknow with hundreds of edits trying to get that article to "good article" status. Some of that work is going to be used to improve other La Martinere schools. If you are interested in finding out about these plans (or helping??) then try leaving a message of the Lucknow school talk page. Victuallers 08:01, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TfD

[edit]

I have nominated Template:La Martiniere Song (appears on this page) for deletion, you can see the debate here. Thanks. Twenty Years 14:41, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re-assessment

[edit]

Following discussion at WT:SCH I am re-assessing this article for WikiProject Schools as Start / Top. I am giving it a Start as I do not think it quite meets B standards - the main issue is that it needs much more references and perhaps further expansion in sections like School Motto.

I am upgrading it to Top importance as of the La Martiniere articles this is the most important - it is the foundation article of several important schools in the world (of which one has been assessed as Top) making it of special importance to the project. Compared to the subsidiary article La Martiniere Lucknow, this article probably does not yet do justice for this topic. Camaron1 | Chris 18:50, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Per the recent TfD on Template:La Martiniere Song, I was hoping to get these three templates from here deleted;

Through a consensus here. User:Victuallers (template creator) has suggested to me that he will Speedy them if consensus is gained here. I would like people to simply place a Keep or Speedy Delete below:

You don't need another consensus here. That's what TFD was for. That is the consensus to delete them. FT2 (Talk | email) 10:16, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it is not needed but it is very civil of Victuallers to want a seperate consensus. While your point is taken, I am glad the deletes were not done unilaterally. Adam McCormick 22:13, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was asked for an opinion, and my opinion is that you should follow the ordinary WP process at TfD, and not invent additional private process deliberation venues of your own. There is no reason not to simply have listed them at Tfd. DGG (talk) 01:39, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with that. These templates are effectively the same as the one we just discussed, I see no need to be overly bureaucratic about that. >Radiant< 08:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you will find that all the templates in question were deleted a couple of days ago. Victuallers 10:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2 separate articles

[edit]

one for each school should be written. like a previous editor commented before, the french school is a lycée, and needs a separate article, even though both institutions have the founder in common [1] FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:26, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
