The result of the move request was: Moved to Kobanî massacre - there is unanimous support for the meat of the move, that we should use the diacritic, and that it shuold be called a massacre. I have gone with the proposal to not include the date, as nobody specifically opposed that proposal either, and it does seem more succinct. June 2015 Kobani attackJune 2015 Kobanî massacre – Massacre or attack? Many sources say "massacre". Also, the diacritic "î" should be used for consistency with "Kobanî". (This is to make up my blundered AFD nomination.) George Ho (talk) 05:45, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in June 2015 Kobani attack

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of June 2015 Kobani attack's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "driveIslamic":

  • From Siege of Kobanî: "Syrian Kurds 'drive Islamic State out of Kobane'". BBC News. January 26, 2015. Retrieved January 26, 2015.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 06:02, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This was an attack where ISIL aimed to kill the maximum people they can in the city not to capture it as it is far away from its controlled land. I dont know who and why it was changed from an event infobox to a battle infobox. please put it back again as its more appropriate and informative. 3bdulelah (talk) 01:49, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

US Support to YPG

[edit]

The infobox shows that the YPG is supported by CJTF-OIR and "US 9th Bomb Squadron" is listed as one of the combatants on the YPG's side. As the USAF played significant role in defending from the attack, I'd say that that section should be removed. Utahwriter14 (talk) 20:19, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
