Kinesin-like protein KIF11KIF11 – Consistency GraziePrego (talk) 01:44, 11 September 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). GraziePrego (talk) 01:53, 12 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Edward-Woodrowtalk 19:51, 19 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 20:40, 27 September 2023 (UTC) The stable, approved HGNC name for KIF11 is KIF11, which expands to "Kinesin Family Member 11". "Kinesin-like protein" was the previously approved name, but is no longer. See:[reply]

The Project Gene Wiki page [https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Molecular_Biology/Genetics/Gene_Wiki lists the top 10 articles all showing the protein name save for when that is too long then the gene name is used.--Iztwoz (talk) 21:21, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose This is an article about a protein, thus title the article with the full protein name per the WP:MOLBIO style guide (UniProt: P52732). Also, this might just be my preference here, but the shorter title is less searchable and less informative. ― Synpath 23:08, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
