YoobinYubin – The singer uses the name Yubin, and not Yoobin. Although both are considered grammatically correct when translating the Korean name to English, Sohee is the name both she and fans are comfortable with. I could not name the entry Yubin, because for some reason it was connected to the Wonder Girls' page, which is a bit understandable considering Yubin is a member of said pop group. I don't know what evidence you're looking for, but perhaps her official Twitter page would prove satisfactory. http://twitter.com/#!/WGyubin Kristen Hoosier 19:24, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Being this article is in early stage, one citation of newspaper may postpone a AfD. But it needs to cite more » nafSadh did say 19:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Yb.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

File:Wonder Girls' Yubin.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

The result of the move request was: moved. as proposed per WP:BARTENDER, no prejudice against an RM for Kim Yu-bin → Yubin. (closed by non-admin page mover) charlotte 👸♥📱 16:41, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

– Proposed destination pages are currently a disambiguation page for just two articles, Kim Yu-bin (musician) and Kim Yoo-bin (actress).

Given that the two ambiguous names use different romanizations (Yu-bin vs Yoo-bin), I don't think a whole separate disambiguation page for just two similarly, but not identically, named articles is necessary.

A cleaner option would be to perform this move, and then place a hatnote on each article pointing to each other. (WP:ONEOTHER)

As far as pageviews go, statistics from the last 12 months show Kim Yu-bin (musician) as receiving 10x the average monthly pageviews of Kim Yoo-bin (actress).stats

Going one step further if people are into it, would be to move Kim Yu-bin (musician) to Yubin (per what I believe to be her WP:COMMONNAME) and then hatnoting the given name (Yu-bin) (WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, musician receives over 3x more average monthly pageviews than everyone else at Yu-bin combined, stats) RachelTensions (talk) 02:53, 21 October 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Raladic (talk) 03:43, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: Please state preference between the move to either Kim Yu-bin or to Yubin as proposed as alternative. Raladic (talk) 03:43, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ll state as nominator that I’d support Yubin over the alternative, just in case my original nomination made it seem like I was 50/50 for either option. RachelTensions (talk) 03:51, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My above support vote extends to both Kim Yu-bin (musician)Kim Yu-bin or to Kim Yu-bin (musician)Yubin, per nomination or as preferred by consensus, thus making Yubin the musician's name instead of serving as a redirect to the name Yu-bin. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 19:47, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
