[edit]

why isnt afghanistan mentioned here???? this phrase is the standard phrase in afghanistan for "goodbye", and the author doesent even mention afghanistan with one sentence. the "persian" language is from balkh, afghanistan and they try to look over afghanistan, goddamnit. the freaking author should quit writing in wikipedia or be thrown out for freaking personal view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.3.156.140 (talk) 16:34, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

'Khuda Hafiz' or 'Khoda Hafez' ?

[edit]

Hello Anupam
I just no real idea about this, but it seem really odd to me that the pages' name is "Khuda Hafiz", but the first words in the text are "Khoda Hafez", and have been for years? To me this seems a big difference, but English (Australian) is my only language. Is this just a pronunciation issue?

This 'issue' wasn't there, title and text agreed, when the page was started here. 220 of ßorg 04:55, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In Persian, as it is spoken today, the word "Khoda" is pronounced slightly differently than it is in Hindi-Urdu; it is for this reason that the word is romanized differently. "Khoda" is more appropriate for the Persian romanization, whereas in Hindi-Urdu, it is spelled as "Khuda". I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 07:25, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have no preference in languages as I don't speak them. I just wondered if the page was at the 'right' name, mainly. I've come across other pages where AGF, mostly IP editors are helpfully, not necessarily correctly, fixing perceived spelling/ translation 'errors' that result in the text and page name not matching. I suppose redirects ensure they get to the right page, but it looks weird, to me. ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯. Regards, 220 of ßorg 11:34, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
