final at-bat by a MLB pitcher?

[edit]

In the Houston Astros subsection of this article, it states: "In Game 5 of the 2021 World Series, Graveman became the final MLB pitcher to record an at-bat, due to the adoption of the designated hitter by the National League prior to the start of the 2022 season."

I'm not sure this statement is accurate. Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels routinely hits during his pitching starts. I would suggest this be edited to read something like (edit in brackets):

"In Game 5 of the 2021 World Series, Graveman became the final MLB pitcher to record an at-bat [during the National League's pre-designated hitter era], due to the adoption of the designated hitter by the National League prior to the start of the 2022 season."

Or the statement could be deleted. Dhirn69 (talk) 05:33, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
