"Indie jazz"
[edit]I don't know who thought they could get away with this. I just listened to their first album and this definitely isn't an accurate description for the first line of the article, even if more jazz influences showed through in their style during their later career. 65.95.63.13 (talk) 19:32, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Karate and public radio
[edit]Just wanted to mention that as of this week, Talk of the Nation is no longer on the air. This may mean that the EL for the Geoff Farina interview is going away or will be changed, if anyone wishes to monitor or archive that link.
While on this subject, it appeared to me that Karate was some sort of favorite of public radio. Since I discovered the band instead through our local college station, I likely didn't pay enough attention at the time to know for sure. A number of public radio programs use 5–10 second interstitial music pieces to tie together segments. I used to hear "The Roots and the Ruins" regularly used on All Things Considered, but it's been several years since I have heard it. "The Last Wars" is regularly used on Marketplace; in fact, I've heard it used within the past week.
I would think this to mean that the band received more-than-usual attention from these outlets, and therefore more sources should be available for this article, but I really haven't seen it. RadioKAOS – Talk to me, Billy 01:34, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Lineup
[edit]I came across some information related to the "Death Kit" release. It's not entirely clear on this matter, but I thought I would bring it up nonetheless. From what I can gather, the band's lineup at the time it was recorded (November 1994) was Farina, McCarthy and Vitt. Jeff Goddard was involved either as an additional musician or as a producer and/or engineer on the recording, but not as a band member. Also, it shows that the band called itself Karate! (note punctuation) at the time. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 16:39, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
