Totally transphobic ad

[edit]

The ad was using a convicted prisoner to defame all trans people. It was anti-trans/transphobic at its finest. [Trump campaign has spent millions on anti-trans ads] Arbeiten8 (talk) 05:33, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why not lay out the facts and let them speak for themselves? Why do you need to push your spin in the lead?187.188.59.225 (talk) 06:19, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is lots of precedent to use accurate label even when subjects deny them. For example, Nick Fuentes denies being a white supremacist. In comparison, Trump hasn't even denied being transphobic.
Numerous articles label the campaign ads transphobic (anti-trans).
The fact is Trump's campaign ads and his own rhetoric were highly transphobic–he constantly misgendered trans ladies and sought their exclusions in different areas of society. His 2021 ridiculous suggestion to LeBron James to become a woman were prelude to these transphobic campaign ads. (In reality, women like Laurel Hubbard came in last against other females!) The article may be re-named to "Trump's 2024 transphobic campaign ads" to dig into Trump's ads against trans athletes, ads against trans prisoners, and ads against trans immigrants more broadly. You didn't answer the question. Отец Никифор (talk) 07:28, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because other editors pointed out that repeating deadnames or misgendering BLPs in articles (even if it's repeating statements by transphobic members of public) is a violation of our policies and guidelines. Consequently, we have to describe the exchanges and incident as "transphobic" rather than repeat transphobic remarks verbatim. Arbeiten8 (talk) 07:42, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
