Subclass
[edit]Hi
I added Shishumar class submarine as a predecessor of Kalvari class submarine because of multiple reasons -
- Kalvari is a follow-on to both Sindhughosh class submarine and Shishumar.
- Both the previous uboats were constructed in the same timeframe.
- If you traverse back from Kalvari page you won't find a link to Shishumar class. Moreover, in the Shishumar page, you will find a new Kalvari class mentioned as a successor. Thus making Shishumar class in a limbo if you traverse back the history of Indian Submarine from Kalvari page.
I think there shouldn't be any doubts that Kalvari is a successor of both since no new boats are being constructed other than Kalvari.
Please revert your edit so as to make proper traversal of an old class of submarine.
Regards

- @Shashpant: Please be patient before you change the page again. I believe that the order was Shishkumar, Sindhughosh and Kalvari. Just because those pages mentions it as so, does not make it correct. This link [1] provides a good overview of this situation. Yes, the time-frames of those two classes do indeed overlap, but that is not the simple criteria to judge the follow-on class for a ship/submarine. In the link, it clearly states that India discontinued the production of the Shishkumar-class and continued producing the Sindhughosh class (with a follow-on order of 4 reduced to 2 later on), thus making it the successor class of the Shishkumar submarines for the Indian Navy. Also, pinging @Gazoth: for his inputs. Adamgerber80 (talk) 22:57, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
