Assess
[edit]This is a start on this school article. Further advice is available at the school project page. 1. Add some topics (like history, more notable alumni, etc) 2. Keep adding references 3. Add pictures 4. Ask for an assessment at the schools project.EagleFan 15:34, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Championships section
[edit]Current practice (see UCLA Bruins e.g.) is to have 2 subsections: one for boys & one for girls. Also, championships are listed by sport, not by year. I think this would improve the article.Lionel (talk) 19:41, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Faulty Alumni Link? William Melville
[edit]Under Notable Alumni, William Melville is listed as a the CEO of a plastic company, but the link goes to a British spy who died before the school was founded. I don't know if a plastic company CEO named William Melville went to the school, but the spy likely didn't. MaryGoldenrod (talk) 00:57, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

COI tag (July 2024)
[edit]Major editing has been carried out by an account with a username clearly linked to the school. Now blocked for violation of username policy. Nick Moyes (talk) 21:47, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

- I just stumbled around this because I was looking at recent article changes in general. My two cents are that even if you volunteer for the school rather than being a paid employee, your connection to the school compromises your objectivity. The point of the COI policy and disclosure is to ensure that articles remain neutral in their coverage--no matter what the specific subject is. If someone else wants to overrule me, that is fine, but I believe the notice on the article should stand. At the very least, someone linked to the original blocked account if not the original user outright in question should not be the one making that determination. --Thebirdlover (talk) 23:03, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've given a COI warning to User:Weloveresearch but I don't have checkuser privileges. If this continues it might be worth pinging someone who does. --Hadal (talk) 23:08, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Do we all agree that everyone who contributed to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Harvard_University is a Yale alum and has absolutely zero relationship with Harvard as an employee, alum, parent, neighbor, donor, researcher or volunteer?
- Volunteers volunteer and can remain impartial. Let's revisit a more realistic COI policy in 2024. 96.76.122.226 (talk) 23:12, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
